About Wyandotte a Campground

Wyandotte Campground is located within 5 mi of the town of La Porte, CA on the Feather River Ranger District. At an elevation of 5,100 ft, the campground is nestled in a natural mixed-conifer forest environment. Little Grass Valley reservoir is a 1600 ac., clear mountain lake with plenty of summer and winter recreation opportunities available. Little Grass Valley Reservoir part of a larger network of streams, rivers, and reservoirs that link features of the South Fork Feather River system with Lake Oroville. Scenic vistas, watchable wildlife, and historic mining sites are in immediate or close proximity to the facility. Operations are seasonal due to winter snow, and delayed openings may result from late snow.

What Guests Are Saying

Wyandotte Campground offers convenient amenities like refreshing water, clean bathrooms, and friendly campers. The proximity to the beach and well-maintained facilities enhance the experience. However, disruptive late-night noise from other campers can detract from the overall enjoyment, particularly on busy holiday weekends.

Very nice campground that wasn’t super crowded even on an August weekend. Bathrooms had toilet paper and were relatively clean. Very nice to have running water and flush toilets. Tent sites were large and well maintained- nicely cleared with a thick layer of mulch. Easy walk to the boat ramp or day use area from most of the sites, although parking at both got very busy during the day.

Probably won’t come back to this place because it is too exposed to both sun and wind…fought wind in getting my tent up, had little protection from sun

Policies & Rules

Cancellation policy

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.

Site capacity

  • Camping, boating, and day use are only allowed during snow-free seasons.

Amenities

  • In winter, snowmobile trails, warming huts, and toilets are available. The summer season opening depends on snow levels, and an annual event in July allows camping by E Clampus Vitus.

Fires & fuel

  • To protect forests, do not move firewood; buy it locally and burn on-site.
