We loved how quiet it was there were just 8 of us from Sun afternoon to Tuesday. However there were downed trees everywhere. The good part was we were able to find firewood but it made the campground scruffy looking.

Our favorite camping spot. We come here every year. Take a day trip over to the dam and other boat docks to explore the Reservoir if you don't have a boat.

Every thing was ok but the camp is very run down after all the tax money we pay I would expect a better upkeep park been coming here for 30 years and sad to see it so run down

There was an issue with the booking site recreation.gov and so we had a booked campsite and a cancelled campsite. So ours was given away. But the camp host was great and was able to fit us in. Clean, close to water, had Porto potties due to the toilets being out. No water so bring it. You can off road here as well. Staging area not too far from campsites.

Dumpster was full the whole weekend and at least 3 campsites had fires. Made us feel very uncomfortable. Wish they still had a camp host or the rangers came by more often.

Always enjoy camping at Red Feather at little Grass Valley Reservoir! First visited when it opened up when I was a kid back in 1969. Brought my kids when they were growing up and now bringing my grandkids. A lot of great memories!

I know there was a forest fire near this campground in recent years because my annual trip was cancelled because of it. It seems like the forest service or whoever cuts timbers in this campground went absolutely crazy cutting down older growth trees and bucking them up for firewood for campground patrons. This has left sparse shade throughout the campsites and this area gets pretty warm during the summer. They also neglected to take down the dead matchstick looking like trees throughout the campground as well as the obstructive trees around the individual camping pads. You know the ones that block your awning or slide from being able to be used. Also, after all these years of going to this campground the facilities are pretty neglected. The only upgrade I've noticed over the past 10 years are bathroom stalls have had doors added to the men's room. They are pretty gross, and I only use them if absolutely necessary. You used to be able to get potable water near the dump station but now that's turned off. The road entrance to the campground is in horrible shape and you will damage your vehicle or trailer if you don't pay attention.

The lake itself is lovely and the air and water temperatures were perfect, considering it was in the 100's at lower elevations. The campground is in dire need of maintenance. Site #8, listed as "Prime Lakefront" is neither Prime, nor Lakefront! You can sometimes barely make out that there's a lake if you're at the perfect angle to see thru the trees. The fire ring was just a rusted out strip of metal and the picnic table is guaranteed to give you many splinters. But at least the water was working while I was there, July 4-6, 2024.
Site #9 doesn't have the extra charge for being "lakefront" but does have a much better view of the lake than #8.

Site #45 is awesome. We would like to get Verizon cell service though. Thank you!
