What Guests Are Saying
Red Feather California offers a peaceful camping experience, especially appreciated for its cleanliness and well-maintained facilities, including flush toilets and water access. Many visitors cherish their long-standing memories of the campground, enjoying activities like exploring the nearby reservoir. We have been going to Red Feather Campground for many many years, but this one was the worst year ever! We could not have any campfires, could not use the water or the restrooms they had portable toilets and sanitary hand washing stations and the weather was unbearable. Hopefully next summer will be much better. I would not recommend anyone go camping up there this year with the campfire and water restrictions. Not an enjoyable time at all.

The campground was relatively quiet, but the upper part of loop 2 has incredibly sloped campsites. Our campsite entrance was opposite of the way traffic is directed so we had to back the trailer all of the way in. The lower loop sites looked flat and relatively easy to access. I recommend those sites over the upper part of loop 2.

Everything was nice. However, they have to fix the restrooms. They are DISGUSTING.

Sites are generally very level; Reasonable space between sites; Bathrooms in good condition, clean and functional; water supply available, but no individual site hookups; trash disposal at dumpsters.
Reservoir is nice, with a gentle slope into the water, so good for little ones wading; not too many large rocks in the bottom; sandy beach in one area.
