What Guests Are Saying
Red Feather California offers a peaceful camping experience, especially appreciated for its cleanliness and well-maintained facilities, including flush toilets and water access. Many visitors cherish their long-standing memories of the campground, enjoying activities like exploring the nearby reservoir. However, there are concerns about the campground's upkeep, with some areas appearing run-down and issues like downed trees and maintenance of the facilities needing attention.

Excellent experience. Bathroom and near by water spigot plus dumpster available to deposit trash and a very large food locker storage. I highly recommend this campground. Thank you!!!

The road into the campground starts off paved then turns to gravel and back to paved. There are some pretty big potholes, but still a decent road in and out. We camped in loop 2 or loop E depending on what map you look at (sites #23- #60. ). The road in the loop is very narrow and there’s a pretty hard corner for larger rigs. Not impossible we made it in our 40 foot motorhome. We watched many other rigs slow down to a crawl and take it very carefully. It’s not for a novice driver. Campground was great!!! Yes there are bears that visit almost nightly

I loved it. The family loved it and we were happy that they didn't let the Corona virus impact our experience.

I like Red feather since we can reserve slots where you can see the lake. This year the bathrooms were disgusting! They were not clean before we got there or while we were there. When the people came they would only fill it with toilet paper and spray something in the room which I don’t know what that was. But you could tell they weren’t clean due to dirty tampons all over the floor, cobwebs and bugs etc. Disappointing.

They have not been very good about cleaning the bathrooms. Take toilet paper and cleaner.
Do love the area.

We arrived on a Wednesday and it was nice a peaceful. The weekend came around and it gets busy but the campsite across from us had a very large group and were loud and loud music. Im good with people having a good time but they were blasting music/singing until 3AM. Again, Im all for a good time but 3 AM. Not cool!

My husband and I have come to this campground for years. Overall, we love this campground. This year however, with the covid scare, we were VERY disappointed in the lack of care in the campground and especially the bathrooms. We were there for 5 nights, and during that time, all bathrooms ran out of toilet paper. When the toilet paper was FINALLY replaced, no one bothered to clean the bathrooms at all. It was really gross. There were also no on-site staff, so there were 2 nights where campers were having loud raging parties past 2am in the morning, with no one there to police them.
