Antlers Campground in Shasta Lake, CA, is praised for its beautiful, well-maintained sites, clean bathrooms, and friendly camp host who goes above and beyond for guests. Many visitors appreciate the campground's convenient location near I-5 and local attractions, making it a solid choice for road trips. However, some guests noted issues like noise from the highway and trains, a lack of water access, and minimal facilities, suggesting improvements like showers and better site management for a more enjoyable experience.

The campground was great. Very spacious sites. Clean bathroom (the one we used) and easy access to water and trash bins. It was very hot the weekend we went (mid-August) but cooled off somewhat at night which was great.

Train runs by the campground a few times a day so beware reserving a site on that side. Would be a nicer place to stay when the lake is up - like in spring / early summer. This time of year (late summer) there is a cliff adjacent to the campground that drops to the waterline.
Camp Host obviously doesn't do much clean-up of the sites. I.e. litter can be found along the roads and in the campsites. Also, the restrooms/toilets don't get serviced or cleaned very often. One near our campsite stunk like an outhouse needing attention and the fumes were continually drifting our way.
Overall not that bad of a place but the Host definitely needs to spend more time doing what they are paid to do.

Stayed at campsite #59, not near the bluff and right off the main road, but was very large and far away from the other camps. The railroad is right next to the campsite, so be prepared to hear trains roll by during the night. Bathrooms and facilities were incredibly nice and clean! Trashcans and water spigots at every other campsite. Would've been nice to have a box for recycling though and not just trash. We went to the Antlers Privately owned RV park and market one night (1 mi North- you can walk, but we drove). They have ice cream and food and any last minute items you need (like aloe if you got sunburnt or a deck of card you forgot on your kitchen table at home). A very nice campsite if you're trying to explore the area around Lake Shasta, but will definitely get a houseboat on the lake next time.
