Site was fine, host was helpful but cost was way to high. Not only could we not use our senior pass but they charge a bunch of extra taxes. Maybe just because this is in California, but it's not worth the cost.

Baily Cove was a very nice campground with a great location on Shasta Lake. We used it as a base camp for exploring Lassen Volcanic NP. The camps host was very friendly and helpful. We were in site #4 and it seemed very private. Restrooms were cleaned daily.

Been camping in the same 2 sites here (2 & 3) for over 20 years, we have been there every year the lake has been high enough for the baily cove ramp to be open. The same camp host has been there for years & is great. He has always allowed us to park empty boat trailers in the open lot next to his site, this year he was ok with it as well. However, the new overzealous ticket writing girl, who also said we should park the trailers there, decided to ticket one of the two empty trailers. I have requested a review of this, but still have gotten no response from shasta recreation company.

On arrival we were approached by a homeless person begging for food. The camp sites are too close to the freeway. The sites are also surrounded by poison oak. The pluses are the proximity to the boat ramp and the bathrooms were clean and conveniently located

Host (Brian I believe?) was friendly, informative and available to questions. Site was clean, shady and felt private. Super quiet. Lake was beautiful and the trail was great. We stayed so we didn't have to drive to Shasta caverns (also a great experience) and this site was not only close and convenient, but very pleasant. Only thing: site 4's bear box did not work at our time of stay. We only stayed one night so we just put our stuff in the car, not a big deal. Bathrooms were clean with running water and TP, no dishwashing station but I feel that's normal and people should be more prepared and pack their dishes to go. Had a nice stay.

Nice campground. Stayed 2 nights. Clean and quiet. Close to Shasta Caverns, if you haven't seen, worth the time.
