Beautiful area, although this section of the lake has mostly dried up. The yurt was very lovely, however there were mysterious stains on the sheets on the bed (mouse droppings maybe?).

Had a great pull through site. 4 deer walked through 2 sites over frim ys. Trains go by but we enjoyed that

Nice small campground. We just stayed overnight so didn’t do any activities. Site was flat. Next to a road. July it was very hot. One bar service with Verizon. Host was friendly.

Cute spot, water was too low to enjoy, but it was a good spot to set up for sleep and just hang out!

Well maintained campground and clean bathrooms. The camp host was so nice and helpful. We could hear the train passing by at night but no horn blown and we went right back to sleep. Nice campground, Will definitely come again.

Great little spot, shaded, quiet, met great people, the train does come through about 4-5 times a day and a couple times at night but it’s really not that bad the sound is relaxing

Although the yurt is open year round, it does not have electricity and, therefore, no heat or lighting. While this isn’t a big deal when the temperature is 60+ degrees, it is a concern if you are wanting to camp in the winter. We were used to the yurts at state parks in Oregon, which are equipped with a source of heat, and took it for granted that other campgrounds advertising year round camping would be similarly equipped and ended up being quite cold despite bringing sleeping bags and two thick blankets. I suggest that Recreation.gov update the details for these listings to specify, in bold lettering, that there is no source of electricity/heat so that future campers are aware that they need to be that much more prepared for the elements.
Additionally, the futon in our yurt appeared to be close to falling apart (I kept referring to it as the college dorm dumpster dive futon). It creaked loudly when one of us tried to sit on it, so we were afraid to sleep on it for fear of breaking it.
On the upside, the campground was located in a convenient location with easy access to I-5 and the bathrooms were well maintained.

From Redding, California, remain on I-5 north to the town of Lakehead (Approx. 20 minutes north of Redding). Take the Antlers Road/Lakeshore Drive exit. Go west under I-5 overpass, then left on Lakeshore drive approximately 2.5 miles to the campground entrance.
Lakeshore East is accessible via State Route 44, which is approximately 8 miles to the east. Additionally, Interstate 5 is about 15 miles to the west, providing further access to the campground.

- Public boat launch requires a daily fee of $17.
- Average maximum trailer size is 30 feet

- Extra Vehicle fee of $12 per night
- Dogs are not allowed inside the Yurts, but can be outside in a tent/kennel.
- Yurts are weatherproof shelters with furniture inside the unit. The site includes a picnic table and fire ring located outside the unit. There are no sources of heat or electricity located inside the unit. Linens are not provided. You can set up a tent along side of the yurt within your site.
