What Guests Are Saying
Lakeshore East offers a beautiful lakefront park with clean campgrounds and friendly hosts, making it an excellent base for outdoor activities like camping, swimming, and boating. The convenience of nearby amenities, such as a small store, adds to the appeal. However, some guests experienced issues with the reservation system and access to the water, and there were occasional concerns about noise and bathroom cleanliness.

We stayed in a yurt at Lakeshore East and would definitely return. Reserve online or by phone. The campground is mostly small tent spots but they had two yurts: site 20 has a twin/full bed bunk and a futon, and site 22 has a queen bed. Fire rings, and flush toilets in good condition. You can overlook the lake a few yards behind the campsite. Be aware that this campsite is across the street from train tracks and the freight train rumbles by several times day and night, and you’ll hear the freeway if you listen. However between trains I thought it was pretty peaceful. There is a small grocery store, laundromat, and local pub nearby.

The view of the water was phenomenal, and all you had to do to see it was walk behind the yurt. It was the perfect spot to sit and have a picnic lunch and look at the beautiful scenery. The yurt itself was nothing to write home about, we found mouse droppings on the floor, the couch was broken, and the bunk bed was very creaky. We were worried that it was going to break anytime that we moved. Other than that though, it was great!
A word of warning to anyone that doesn't visit this part of California often, there are a ton of ticks! Even in late March. Make sure and plan for that!

Pretty nice campground. Next to 2 boat ramps and not too far from the water if you hike down the hill. Not the best place to swim but looks great for fishing! Downside is that it's close to highway 5 and a train track so you can hear some noise at night. Other than that a nice place to get away.

Beautiful little campground right on the shore of Lake Shasta. All campsites had nice, level, paved pads. There was one drive through site a number of double sites. Most sites were large enough to accommodate decent sized RVs or trailers. Clean restrooms with flush toilets. The only reason I rated it down one star was the area itself, outside of the campground, was a bit run down and we may have been a little hesitant to leave much out at the campsite if we were going to be away from it for an extended period.

We stayed in one of the Yurts.
they are very nice and easy to start camping, but they have futons in them that are in serious need of repair (think about air mattress)
There is a road the runs along the west side of campgrounds as close as 30 feet (where cars frequently race on the weekends)
There is also a train track that runs along the same side of campgrounds and you hear trains and whistles from 0400 - 2200
The river is on the East side and the view is beautiful and is the main attraction for this campground.
It gets VERY busy on weekends and there is not a lot of room between sites
The toilets are flush-able (mostly clean) and they have sinks with running water.
Your check in time is at 3:00PM and the camp host has a sign on his door that says "open 9:00am - 5:00pm" ...So get firewood or directions quickly
Sheriffs roll through a couple of times on weekends to keep people from getting too rowdy
This place is good to bring groups of families and have the kids run around or drinking parties with your friends
If you are looking for a camping experience in the woods.....This is not your place

Is the perfect location for visiting the waterfalls in the Redding area. The site was big enough to accommodate my party of 10.

Nice shady spot on the water. Easy access to Antlers boat ramp. The trains at night were my only complaint but they only came through 2-3 times. We’ll be back.

We had an amazing time! Perfect weather! The camp host was awesome.. answer all of our questions.. We will definitely be back this summer.. but the only problem we had was the boats.. it was pretty hard to Kayak and be on our paddle boards. Other than that it was great!
