What Guests Are Saying

Lower Billy Creek offers a peaceful and beautiful camping experience with friendly hosts and clean facilities. Campers appreciate the proximity to the lake for swimming, fishing, and stunning views, though shade is limited due to recent tree removal. While some noted a decline in maintenance and a challenging access road, the overall atmosphere is family-friendly and enjoyable, making it a favorite spot for many.

It was beautiful, relaxing and quiet. The lake is huge rented a boat and spent the day on the water with grandkids, it was a lot of fun. The restaurant has good food the bathrooms are the cleanest I’ve ever seen. We even had a bear walk right past our campsite on the shore side! Will definitely return again next year.

This campground is excellent! Literally steps from the lake. Only 10 sites so it was quiet and beautiful. The campsite was clean and the toilets were also. 10/10

Lower Billy Creek Campground is beautiful. Mike, the host, is top notch. He is caring and keeps it clean and organized. Well worth the trip. The lake was stunning with sailboats on there water. I'll be going here again.

Wow, what an absolutely awesome spot. Literally on the water's edge. Great swimming spot. The person overseeing the site is really nice and cares a lot about keeping the site clean and orderly. We arrived a bit early and he insisted on cleaning our space up before we settled in. Highly recommended and I'll definitely be coming back.

I made reservations online and upon arriving at the marker post at my site had my name ticket clipped to it. The host came by the next day and issued my car pass. When I asked he explained why Upper Billy was off-limits. I enjoyed my stay so much that I went to the reservation booth up at Lakeshore and found a site in Rancheria for Saturday and Sunday night.

The Lower Billy Creek Campground survived the 400,000 acre Creek Fire from 2020. The facilities were clean and were in good shape. The lake front view of Huntington Lake, especially after a mid-Summer rain shower is second to none! The lake was 94% full as of early July 2021 with good fishing from Dam #3. If you hike along the trail along the Lake, you can see the burnt trees all the ways down to the water's edge in some sections of the Lake. However, the flora and fauna near Lower Billy Creek is intact. The Lakeside Cottages across the Lake also survived the Creek Fire.

For being a double site it was really small. We could barely fit a large and 2 medium tents. The 2 huge picnic tables and 2 fire pits took up most of the room. No beach or swimming area from the lake, had to go to another spot to swim.
