About Upper Billy Creek Cg

Campground closed until further notice due to hazard trees. Upper Billy Creek Campground is located across the road from Huntington Lake near the Kaiser Wilderness. The adjacent Billy Creek Guard Station Museum provides historical overviews of Huntington Lake, Native Americans and the Forest Service. Some sites at Upper Billy Creek offer lake views and others overlook Billy Creek and its abundant wildflowers. The location makes it possible to discover all the activities and attractions at Huntington Lake, and it's an excellent base for further exploration of the Kaiser Wilderness.

My family and I just returned from a camping trip to this great campground. There are about 10 available sites for reservations and they are SUPER CLEAN. The campground has plenty of clean bathrooms, overflow parking, and friendly staff.

There are bearboxes, fire pits with grills, and nicely raked pads for tents. The ambiance is peaceful, fresh, and inviting.

These sites are within walking distance to Huntington Lake where a ride variety of activities await. We spent our days on the lake and even went to the little island in the lake.

Really nice, clean and nice spot for camping. The approach roads are a bit narrow and surrounding areas seem to be effected by the fires but the view of the lake and quite time in nature is worth the time would definitely recommend!

Our site was nice. The kids got to see some of the wildlife in the area. Fishing wasn't as great as in previous years but the kids had a ball in the water. Just make sure you take bug spray. Thankfully we did!

Site capacity

  • Site capacity allows one RV with a tow vehicle per single site, or one vehicle for single tent camping; double sites can accommodate two RVs or two vehicles. Extra vehicles incur a nightly fee.

Fires & fuel

  • Campfires and charcoal fires may be restricted due to weather; check with the ranger district for updates.
  • Do not move firewood; buy locally to protect forests.

Cancellation policy

  • Reserved sites are held until the next day; they must be occupied by check-out time to avoid forfeiture.
