We had went to June Lake in August the prior year and didn't think going in June would be too much of a weather difference...we were wrong. First night we were there we had massive wind storms and it was a freezing cold wake up. Second night wasn't nearly as bad and with the fire going and some beers we were having fun. Our camp site itself was perfect, barrier was very handy and it was out of the way from other sites.

I have been coming to this campground for 42 years now, ever since I was born. I love it and now bring my kids every year. During the pandemic, a lot more people turned to camping and this campground has become much busier. It’s great to see more families visiting and enjoying the great outdoors. There is one issue however that keeps getting worse every year. There is only one lane in into the campground. With people returning from day trips and others checking In for their trip, the traffic in has become an issue. Many people attempt to go the wrong way to get around traffic but even that creates issues. There needs to be another lane added to ease the congestion. Also, it was a huge inconvenience this year that the dump station was closed during our trip….

Beautiful campground. No complaints here and we will be back again. Only request would be for other campers. This is a place connected directly to nature. Please turn down the music and leave a small footprint.

The General area of June Lake and the lake itself is awesome, no complaints there.
The two issues we had at the camp spot "Deer 139" were:
1) We got all set up on the flat area of our camp spot (just off the end of the pavement) only to find out you are not allowed to park any vehicles (in our case a Sprinter van) off of the pavement. It would have been nice if Parks painted a white line, installed a sign/bollards, or just moved some big rocks to indicate that you cannot go any further. Also, once on the pavement we had to use all of our leveler blocks to barely get level.
2) There is and ATV trail that goes right behind the west side of this loop of camp spots. There was a constant noise of the ATV's and DUST as they sped by. They should be going slow, like 5mph or less when going by the camp area - (is this road even needed?!).
I would probably come back to the general area buy we would NOT stay anywhere on the west end of this loop.
OTHER NOTES: There is minimal shade in this loop, pick your spot carefully in summer time. Also, I can't imagine any place with flush toilets that does not have at least an outside rinse shower?! This would be a huge upgrade to this area.

Oh Ridge Campground is 350 miles north of Los Angeles and 150 miles south of Reno, Nevada. Take U.S. Highway 395 to its southern junction with Highway 158. Take 158 for 1 mile. Turn right on North Shore Drive. Go approximately 1 mile and turn left on Pine Cliff Road. Go 0.5 mile to campground entrance.
Oh Ridge Campground is accessible via U.S. Highway 395, which is approximately 1 mile from the campground via Highway 158.

General
- Reserved Sites will be held until the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of the second day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests. Please call the office at 760-934-5795 if you need to inform the campground of an arrival time greater than 24 hours after your arrival date, or if you will not use your reservation whatsoever.
- Please Note: One RV with tow per single site or one vehicle per tent site. Most sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. In accordance with standard industry practices, Inyo Recreation will assess an additional $10.00 extra vehicle fee per day for the second vehicle in each single family campsite, and on the third and fourth vehicle in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered one vehicle, and the third and fourth motorcycle are also considered one vehicle. No additional vehicle fees are collected for bicycles.
- This is a high elevation facility; please use caution when traveling from lower elevations; campground usually not clear of snow until late May or early June
- Be bear aware; keep all food out of site in approved containers or locked inside your vehicle and remove all food from area after eating; always keep a clean camp and do not feed any wild animals; campground host has bear literature
- Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed. For current fire conditions or weather closures contact the Mammoth Lakes Visitor Center, (760) 924-5500, or the Mono Lakes Visitor Center, (760) 647-3044.
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect California's forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. For more information visit firewood.ca.gov.
