We tent camped here in late September. The site was pretty small - was only able to fit (2) 2-person tents side by side. It was very windy, but the surrounding shrubs shielded us pretty well. Beware, the shrubs were filled with stinging nettle. The facilities were clean, the camp store/cafe was great & the lake is beautiful. Yes, the site is lake front but with the campground road btw you & the lake. Campers from other sites & neighboring RV park use this lakefront access. So be prepared to share the beauty.

Lot #47 was fantastic! It’s surrounded by beautiful trees, and the neighbors were excellent. The facility staff were super friendly and shared a lot of helpful information about the campsite. We can't wait to come back next year

I had a great time at Silver Lake Campground on the June Lake Loop. The scenery was spectacular the mornings cool and crisp in late September and viewing the deer and chipmunks and steller’s jays amazing throughout the day. I look forward to to a return visit to this campground. It is a favorite.

Beautiful campground with great 360-degree of the surrounding mountains. Attentive camp hosts and clean restrooms with flush toilets. Potable water is easily accessible throughout the campground. Level sites with fire rings and bear-proof storage boxes. Located adjacent to Silver Lake and the nearby Silver Lake Resort (grocery store, cabins, and RV park with full hookups). The lake has a boat launch area and you can rent a boat or kayak at the resort store. Be sure to visit Bodie Ghost Town and Mono Lake Tufa State Natural Reserve (California State Parks) and consider hiking nearby trails, including the one that leads up to the area near Carson Peak, and explore the other lakes along the "June Lake Loop". There is good fishing at all the surrounding lakes and associated streams.

The campground is accessed via U.S. Highway 395, which is approximately 7 miles from Highway 158, the road leading directly to Silver Lake Campground.

- This is a high elevation facility; please use caution when traveling from lower elevations
- Be bear aware; keep all food out of site in approved containers or locked inside your vehicle and remove all food from area after eating; always keep a clean camp and do not feed any wild animals; campground host has bear literature
- Only 2 pets per site allowed.
- Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed. For current fire conditions or weather closures contact the Mammoth Lakes Visitor Center, (760) 924-5500, or the Mono Lakes Visitor Center, (760) 647-3044.
- Please Note: One RV with tow per single site or one vehicle per tent site. Most sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. In accordance with standard industry practices, Inyo Recreation will assess an additional $10.00 extra vehicle fee per day for the second vehicle in each single family campsite, and on the third and fourth vehicle in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered one vehicle, and the third and fourth motorcycle are also considered one vehicle. No additional vehicle fees are collected for bicycles.
- Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of the second day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests.
- Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect California's forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. For more information visit firewood.ca.gov.
