Site 33 is a great spot for the views of the mountains. There is absolutely no shade in this spot. There's a water spigot at the road at the site. Directly across from the site is Rush Creek and fishing. 10 minute walk to Silverlake Resort and the lake. The campground is spacious...so much room in between spots. Walk right to all of the hiking spots from your campsite.
** when we were there, there was a problem with the plumbing in the bathrooms and showers.

Silver lake campground is beautiful. I have stayed in a lot of campgrounds and this is one of the best. It sits next to a lake and a creek. There is another creek that flows down the mountain just across the street, then about a half mile down the road is horsetail falls that can also be seen from the campground. In the spring it is spectacular. Located in the June lake loop so there are 3 more lakes nearby to visit, all great for fishing, kayaking and lake days. Many scenic hiking trails nearby. Too many must see destinations nearby to list them all. But to list a few, there is Mono lake and the craters, Mammoth mountain is 15 miles away and the Tioga pass entrance to Yosemite is also a short drive.

There is only one shower building for the entire 60+ campsites and it started to be Out of Order on Saturday and still was not opened on Monday when we left. I booked this campsite for the shower, very disappointed. In addition, only the 2 restrooms at the far end were opened and one of them was wet on the floor.
There are dog poops on the campsite. Camp hosts said he picked up those all the time, but it looks dry which was not left there recently.
Campsite pictures do not match the reality. The picture of #63 has lake view but it is in the middle of the campground which no tree, no lake view.

Had a really good time here. Bathrooms were clean and had flush toilets, which was nice. Showers are $0.50 for 3 minutes (quarters only) β kind of hard to find at first, but they do have them. The lake and creek area were really pretty, and the knee-high water made it great for kids. Campsites are a bit small and close together, but overall itβs a fun spot. Definitely recommend to bring fishing rods, floaties, kayaks, or anything for the water because that was the best part.

One of my favorite campgrounds hands down. Camp hosts are very friendly and helpful. Very white and kept clean. Good amount of space between each sites.

I have been coming here for about 38 years. Silver Lake is one of my favorite spots. There are approximately 30 family members that come, and we all have the time of our lives. I'm so glad they have showers now, it makes like so much easier. I will be coming every year until I can't do it anymore. πβ€οΈπ£
