Silver Lake Campground June Lake (CA)

Very pleasant experience. A welcoming, chil vibe. Spacious campsites with stunning views at every turn. Clean, flush toilets and hot showers. Beautiful, clear water lake. Camp store and dinner. Day trip driving distance from Yosemite Valley. Friendly hosts. What’s not to like. No dump station on site but a very nice one at the service station not far north on the 395. We will be back.

This campground is in a beautiful location right beside the actual Silver Lake body of water. It is run by a very nice couple.

If you are in a tent (only), some of the sites are very exposed with no shade. We were on a motorcycle and were fortunate with Site 28 that there were some large shrub nearby facing east, so we got shade in the morning. We were also right by the water. There were a lot of mosquitos in the last week of July, but Deet saved us!

There could be more restrooms. It was a slight bit of a walk to them. That said, they were spotlessly clean, and we didn't have to wait very long. There are also showers - YES! - and the camp hosts will gladly give you change in quarters to use them.

All the other campers we met were friendly and decent. The Silver Lake Resort & General Store across the road has very old school "mountain town" vibes and has a lovely cafe/diner attached.

Would come again - if we can get a shaded site!

Great campground right outside of Yosemite. Perfect spot with good availability on our way out of the park.

Campsite was clean and well-maintained upon check-in.

Overall, the campground was very nice. I enjoyed my stay. The road in the campground is new and very nice, it’s absent of potholes. The bathrooms are very well kept, flush toilets. They are clean and have outlets. The showers could be a little better, I got gum stuck on my shoe from the floor in them, but overall still fine. They do cost quarters which is fine. The hosts were very nice and helpful, our RV battery died and the hosts were on it! They charged it up for us. The lake access is pretty good, lots of small beach areas in between trees all around with little to no walk. The campsites were nice and long but some were really close to the campsite next to us and overall not that big of campsites and, at least ours, had no shade at all. And there is lots of stinging nettle all around the campsite which I didn’t realize that’s what it was when I accidentally touched it. So be aware of that. But overall, nice campground with good lake access.

We’ve been coming here for almost 10 years, it’s amazing. Perfect tranquil campground, majestic lake, really clean facilities.

Only frustration this time was the lack of enforcement of the 24-hour requirement to arrive for reservations. It means lots of sites remain open, with people in the wings wanting them. Refund requirements also discourage people from ever canceling, overall means less people get the chance to enjoy this perfect place.

The campground was fantastic. It's extremely spacious and well kept. Having a shower facility is also a plus. I really liked the grass, instead of dirt, that is between all of the campgrounds. The hosts were really nice and personable. The only recommendation would be for the boat rental to offer renting by the hour. My son is autistic and lacks patience. I knew ahead of time that i wouldn't be able to stay on the water longer than an hour. I unfortunately had to rent the boat for a half day. Other than that, I highly recommend this campsite. I will definitely go there next year.
