Wonderful family camping trip despite the open fire ban which we completely understood. Disappointed though campers in loop D ( we were in loop C) on our last night did have a fire in the late evening. Reported it next morning to ranger station. Can’t with to camp here again.

Very easy to navigate. Each campsite had pretty much their own bear locker and the site was very spacious.

Quiet and clean campground. Bring a water container for your campsite if you are tent camping. And bring a good doormat because the ground is dirt and fine gravel. The lights are kept low at night so that you can see the star-filled sky! Amazingly unforgettable!
It gets cold at night--even in August, so dress appropriately and have a warm sleeping bag.
The only negative is the showers. You have to go to the camper's store, pay $5, and they are absolutely filthy! Dirt and hair everywhere! And the stalls are tiny with no place to put your clothes or towel.

We made a 1-night stop here to check it out. There are plenty of reasons to come back. The little lake is very beautiful and I’d love to try fishing there. The campground is spotless. I appreciated the paved camp spots and the abundant trash/recycling cans. Pine trees everywhere! Their store has everything including a cafe and a GAS STATION. I needed gas after that climb from Redding. Best thing was the view of the stars at night.
