The campground was nice. The bathrooms did not have working lights so it was super dark after the sun went down. We had a reservation this time, but sometimes we do not. All of the sites were marked reserved with no way to know, but to go online to see what was available. We had no service so I'm not sure how you would know what was available if you didn't have a reservation. The camp store was nice but overpriced compared to other stores. We loved the hike around the lake.

The campground is beautiful! the hike around the lake is picturesque. You can sometimes get a signal near the openings by the lake, which is a good thing since there is no signal anywhere else. We rented kayaks one day on the lake, very nice. The bathrooms were mostly clean. Our campsite was spacious and shady. Getting firewood is tricky. It is very expensive at the campground, there is a guy who sells better more affordable wood parked right outside the park on the main highway but he is not always there. Showers were nice and clean. There is a good store. I would highly recommend this campground.

As I travel with my dog, most of the park’s experiences were not available to me. I know that the prohibition of dogs on trails is purportedly to prevent disturbing wildlife. However given the number of people traveling the trails, I doubt that the wildlife would be any more disturbed by leashed dogs.

We hit excellent weather, the park was beautiful as always. We had to move because of it being late in the year and sections of the campground being closed for winter. The move was easy and stay ended on another beautiful day in one of the most diverse and beautiful NP in California.

Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
