Lovely place to camp, with easy access to many of the park’s trails. Disappointed that there was no evening campfire program.

Summit Lake North is praised for its great location within Lassen National Park, offering scenic views, easy access to hiking trails, and a beautiful lake for swimming. The campground is well-maintained with clean bathrooms and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a favorite for visitors seeking a relaxing camping experience. However, some sites are closely spaced and lack shade, which may affect privacy and comfort.

This campground is right in the middle of the park. It's approximately 15 mi in each direction to the most popular sites. The lake is excellent for children to swim in. It is also easy to get your kayaks into the water.

We were in site A13. The site is very close to its neighbor because there is no level site for our tent accept right next to their fire ring. You can hear them whispering. Also there is not much shade at that site so bring a shade structure. There are some sites that looked better but overall all the sites are pretty close together. The lake is very nice and the north side has great access to the lake and nice seating areas. Good access to water spigots and trash bins. The bathrooms were very clean but they don't have lighting.

Perfect place in the middle of most hiking trailheads. Toilets with running water. We were happy!

Sites are extremely close together; like it’s not clear which table and fire ring is yours and your neighbor’s tent is in your space. But it’s ok for a late arrival, early departure stay.
