Summit Lake was such an amazing campground. We booked only 1 night to break up a long drive to California, but wish we would have booked another night to be able to do some exploring in the area. Will definitely come back for a longer stay. Bummed to see sites that were reserved that nobody showed up for. There should be a serious fine if you no-show for a reservation without cancelling. It's hard to get these spots in the first place.

Very nice campground with some private spots. The Dixie fire did get close to campground. Which made for a different experience.

I enjoyed my spacious campsite near the water, kayaking and swimming in the lake, and hiking the Terrace Lake Trail. Along the east side of the lake (beyond the very edge of the lake) the fire damage to the forest is severe. To the west, the forest is unscathed. There is still much to love about this place.

Very quiet group of campers this time while we were there, which is nice in a campground where the spaces are fairly close together. So glad it survived the fire.
