We were there at the beginning of September and took a refreshing dip in the lake. It was only a short drive from the campsite to the trailhead to climb Lassen. We found plenty of down wood to build a fire.

Great location in Lassen with scenic views and close to Bumpass trailhead. The lake is walking distance and adds to the ambiance of this intriguing volcanic park. There were several hiking trails nearby, it's are 'go to' campground when we're visiting Lassen.

Beautiful campground. Clean bathrooms. Site B8 seemed bigger and more secluded than others. In general, sites are very small and close to each other. Did not see the host. No one came to check our reservation. Many hiking trails start from the campground. Wonderful park. Will come back!

Extremely tiny campsite.
Not a lot of stretching room and your tent will be ten steps away from the other campsite's tent.
The lake is nice if it isn't too cold to go swimming.
Save your money and go disperse camp in the national forest if you can.
