Campground was quiet and right on lake which had great spots to relax and dip in water. Also was near some nice trails.

Summit Lake South is a scenic and well-kept campground with decent privacy and easy access to nearby lakes and trails. Many campers appreciated the tranquility and cleanliness, enjoying amenities like potable water and flat camping spots. However, some noted issues with campsite spacing, uneven parking, and noise from nearby campers, while others mentioned the impact of the recent fire on the area's natural beauty.

Better than I expected considering the fire last year. 1/2 of the camp sites are empty because of no-shows. Visitors center requires masks July 2022 (not kidding).

The camp was very quiet, our site was the C08 just in front of the lake ! (and not far from the restrooms...) We hiked the begining of the echo lake trail to see an amazing sunset over the Lassen Peak, but there's also an easy trail around the lake !
