Great, quiet campground with clean restrooms and trash receptacles. Lassen is so peaceful and beautiful… and not crowded!

Summit Lake South is a scenic and well-kept campground with decent privacy and easy access to nearby lakes and trails. Many campers appreciated the tranquility and cleanliness, enjoying amenities like potable water and flat camping spots. However, some noted issues with campsite spacing, uneven parking, and noise from nearby campers, while others mentioned the impact of the recent fire on the area's natural beauty.

Only issue I had is the staff didn't put up a reserved tag at our site, so when I arrived there of course was someone already there. We were both just passing through and I offered to just share the site, problem solved.
The campground was very nice. Clean, spacious and fires were allowed, which was great. It has my recommendation.

The campground was quiet and nice, even outside of the tent-only loop. Our specific campsite didn't have a great flat spot for a tent, which is my only complaint.
