Summit Lake South is a scenic and well-kept campground with decent privacy and easy access to nearby lakes and trails. Many campers appreciated the tranquility and cleanliness, enjoying amenities like potable water and flat camping spots. However, some noted issues with campsite spacing, uneven parking, and noise from nearby campers, while others mentioned the impact of the recent fire on the area's natural beauty.

Was a really nice site. My only negative was that the parking spot wasn’t as level as it could have been so I needed to put one tire on a large rock to level my camper. I was last minute and it was the only site available for 2 nights.

Loved this campsite and its kinda in the middle of the park so it made it nice and easy to get to where you want to go.

Online campsite photo was deceiving: it did not show site had been nearly clearcut, and there was barely room for a tent. Unmoveable (heavy) concrete table was on a steep slope. Old growth logs criss-crossed most of the site. Changing sites was horrific because there is no cell service at the campsite, only at the entrances, and connections are weak and calls get dropped! The way to change sites is really difficult to find on the web site. Our second site, after we were able to move and after losing a half day of our vacation trying, was idyllic. Something to be said for having a real human being on site who can help! Refunds were fast and good, but we did lose vacation time and were very frustrated trying to change sites.

Booked a campsite, and I could not even put a tent on it. The ground was extremely uneven and overgrown. There was no trees or shade near my campground. I needed up having to find a different campground outside the park.

Summit Lake South is a great campground right by the lake. Pit toilets available. This campsite is near the toilet if you cross into another campsite. There wasn't anyone camped at the site so I was able to take the shortcut but the walk would be longer if someone was camped there. There's potable water nearby. The campsite is on a bit of a hill so there is a bit of a slant to the entire campsite, but not terrible. Bear box, campfire ring and table provided.
