Campground is beautiful and a convenient central location. Every site is a short walk to the lake too. My only negative comment is many of the sites that state online to have space for two cars in no shape, way, or form have space for two cars (some sites do in fact have space for two cars). I only had one car, but when I arrived my neighbors were using their spot and my spot, then they actually took some convincing to leave my parking spot!

The bathrooms were not clean and had a foul smell. It didn’t help that it was very hot thus a fire band in effect. The good thing is there was not too many trees making it perfect for stargazing. The welcome center was not too far which was convenient to use the clean restrooms there.

I recently stayed at this campground and had a mixed experience. The biggest issue was the lack of restroom facilities for the size of the campground. The bathrooms were too few and located too far from many of the campsites, making them inconvenient to access, especially at night.

Additionally, the campsites were spaced very close together, which offered very little privacy and made the campground feel crowded. With more restroom facilities and better spacing between sites, the overall camping experience would be much more enjoyable.

This campground is beautiful, with lots of tall trees, shade, scenery, and wildlife. Unfortunately the sites are VERY close and the campground was full of very noisy people while I was there, all three nights.

Campsites are VERY close together. Hope for nice, well-behaved neighbors! There is no ranger presence at this campground so you are very much on your own, especially considering there is no cell service. Otherwise, it is a great location right next to the lake!

Really enjoyed our visit to Lassen and Summit South Campground!! Our site was perfect, with lots of space. It's pit toilets, but surprisingly clean. It's centrally located to great hiking on 89. We enjoyed floating on the lake in the afternoon and walking around it in the evening. We came mid-week in August and loved that it wasn't overcrowded. Would highly recommend this park and campground!

The campground was packed and way closer together than we’re used to. It was a beautiful night for stargazing but there were head lights, lanterns, flashlights at all hours of the night. Resources were close, but had to wait in line for bathrooms.
