What Guests Are Saying
Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort offers a beautiful setting with stunning views of Mt. Shasta, lovely hiking trails around the lake, and a friendly staff that enhances the camping experience. Many guests enjoyed the spacious RV sites and noted the campground's cleanliness, along with amenities like a market and easy access to outdoor activities. However, some concerns were raised about inadequate bathroom cleanliness and inconsistencies in service, particularly regarding kayak rentals and initial check-in experiences. Overall, the resort has great potential for enjoyable family outings, but improvements in maintenance and communication could enhance guest satisfaction.

Initially I sent my review directly to the “resort.” But I didn’t get a reply so I will now post online. One would’ve thought someone there would care or reply with a thanks for bringing it to their attention.
I arrived on Oct 9 with a friend. I had a camper van/RV. When we checked in there were two younger women working. They seemed put out at our arrival. When I asked for a site map one woman (the one with only one hand) said they were trying to close up and how the management hates overtime. The inconvenience they must have experienced by our arrival was definitely felt by me. +We got a tent site (167?). It was small and tight. No room to move around between the van and the bushes. The “Resort” was almost empty with plenty of RV sites to choose but I’m certain the women up front gave us a bad site on purpose. Oh, and it was pouring rain which made having little to no room move around in much more unpleasant. I got scratched by the bushes.
But we were staying up north for a week and needed a place to stay so we came back (because other nearby options weren’t available). We stayed Oct 15 & 16 and the experience was night and day. The reception was great! She was so kind and helpful. And we got an RV site E29 and had plenty of room. It was great we decided to stay 2 nights. The park is lovely and the lake was beautiful.
Lastly, there is the bathroom. The water was hot but the set up was very scary. No privacy whatsoever and anyone can come in to use the toilet only to be separated by a moldy shower curtain. There was a flattened piece of poo on the floor and 3 finger swipes of browness which I presumed to be more poo. The toilets are filthy and I think I saw the same poo splatter in the handicapped toilet stall.
The bathrooms were worse than any gas station bathroom, ever.
Pics: What the toilet stall looks like. So gross. My blue shoe is pointing to the flattened feces. The lack of privacy and security of the shower curtain, and the 3 fingers of brown on the wall in the handicapped shower stall.
Even though the 2nd check in was pleasant the lack of concern and sanitation of this place is why I have it a one star review.

campground was nice and clean. Our site was large, with trees too. beach was great.
Would give them a 5 start review, but when we asked if kayaks were available to rent the next day, the booking agent said yes, so we booked an extra night. Then following day we went to rent kayaks at the beach location and they said it was closed. Disappointing. So I would go again, but wouldn't count on their kayak rentals being open.

Amazing little family camp ground. We stayed in RV camping walking distance to the lake. The views of Mt Shasta were unmatched. Bird watching top notch! Super quiet and the staff was very friendly. Easy dump and fill station and a cute little market on campus. Will stay again. Also great sunrise and sunset location!

Overall the location is beautiful and the hike around the lake was lovely. That being said, we rented a cabin and upon arrival the toilet seat was left up with urine left inside of it. Clearly a man used the bathroom and didn’t bother to flush. Absolutely disgusting. Not what you want to see in a supposedly “clean” cabin. I wouldn’t stay there again based off this experience. If you come for a day trip or camping, the staff that work on the dock were really nice and knowledgeable.

I don’t understand the negative reviews. The camp resort is beautiful, but it is also wilderness. We were prepared as a camper should be so our stay was great. The lake was beautiful, site was beautiful, bathrooms were pretty well kept considering the amount of campers there. We also really enjoyed listening to fellow campers enjoy their music and surroundings with their family/friends. The only thing that threw me off were the visits from a curious/hungry bear each night (it was well displayed that bear activity was high). Our fault for leaving the cooler out instead of in the truck, but now I have a super cool bite mark on my cooler to show! All around just a memorable trip.
