Overall, the campground was quiet. Campsites were spaced well & I had good neighbors. The camp host was helpful. The road getting into campsite 15 was really rocky so I will not go back to that site again.

Ample shade.
Cons
Very rocky driveway that requires that you carefully thread your non-4x4 vehicle through a boulder field.
Sites #14, 15 and 16 are terribly close together. You'll hear every conversation from the two groups next to you.
Site #15 can accommodate one large pickup; there really isn't space for another large pickup.

Well kept grounds. The site I had was not where it was shown on the website. Sites 10A and 10B are shown quite a distance from the others, but were really in the loop. No problem though. Bathrooms were clean and stocked.

The people camping next to us were up all night being very loud and even got into a shouting match with another campsite that told them to please quiet down. Luckily they were only there for 1 night

This is one of our favorite spots and for the first time in a number of years the site was clean and the firepit was empty which means I did not have to clean it out prior to use. The site was also clear of litter which is a change from recent years.

Easy to get to the lakes, or up the hill for biking. Its beautiful and quiet. The camp sites are big and some close to the creek which is amazing. The bathrooms were clean and had enough toilet paper. It's our favorite place to camp. We even had a bear visit us while we were sitting around the fire. No biggie, we didnt have anything for him. We just yelled and banged dishes and he left. Pretty amazing experience, actually.

From Sierraville, travel south on Highway 49 for 18 miles. Turn right at Bassett and continue just over a mile to the Sardine Lake turnoff. Turn right at Packer Lake/Forest Road 93 and continue to the campground.
From Downieville, travel north on Highway 49 for about 18 miles. Turn left at Bassett and continue just over a mile to the Sardine Lake turnoff. Turn right at Packer Lake/Forest Road 93 and continue to the campground.
The campground is accessible via Highway 49, which is approximately 18 miles from both Sierraville and Downieville.
