Campground and site are easily accessible. No hiking-in required. Most campsites are pretty close to one another, but there are a few that feel a bit more private/secluded. Being in such excellent proximity to the river was a surprise. That does bring with it a heavy community of mosquitoes, however, so bring bug spray and all the anti-skeet items ya got. Thankfully, for the most part, you'll really only see them (in heavy doses) around sunset each day. The nearby Indian Valley Store was closed so we trekked down to the Lost Nugget Market in Camptonville for firewood and gas. Service there was very friendly. All in all, this was a great spot and the views on the river were awesome.

From Downieville, travel south on Highway 49 for about 12 mi. The campground is on the left side of the highway.
From Nevada City, travel north on Highway 49 for 30 mi. The campground is on the right side of the higway.
