Site 28. Overall amazing location. Beautiful hiking nearby and the place felt clean and safe. I will say we had a lot of rain the two days we stayed overnight and many parts of our campsite flooded. Not ideal for tent camping with the standing puddles but overall we had a great experience.

We had nearly the entire campground to ourselves and at night, all we heard was the rushing stream nearby. It was perfect. My only negative thought would be the bathrooms. The smell is just too much...

Drove 2.5 hours to get away for the night only to find out that someone already setup camp in our reserved spot. Talked to other campers and about 5 others had to move from their reserved spot as well because people were moving the reserved signs around. Tired to find a camp host but was told they don’t work on the weekends. We had to drive another 2.5 hours back home because of no other sites available. It’s been over a week and still haven’t heard anything back from the facility when I called them. Never going back to this site again. Save your money.

Nice campground, especially if you’re a tent camper. We have a 26’ trailer and reserved space 17 online because it was long enough to get the trailer in. It was. But it was also on a fairly steep slope so we had to find another spot. Thankfully we were there mid week so the upper loops were almost empty. Got a workable spot and enjoyed our time. Park rangers need to get better dumpsters though. A bear came every morning and tipped them over to release the lids. Smart bear.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Beautiful burbling creek and lots of pine trees and shade. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table and bear box to lock your food in. We’ve been to Wild Plum a handful of times before. There’s always been a campground host before. Maybe that’s just in the summer. Most recently we were up for Sierra City Oktoberfest and everything was clean and nice but there was no firewood for sale and even the general store was out so they sent us to a guy at the library who was out but led us in a caravan to the outskirts of town to get some. So that was nice of the guy but I wish there was firewood at the campground. And beware there is no electricity at the campground so you won’t be able to inflate your plug in air bed 😂
Check out Salmon Lake in the Summer yo swim to a rocky island and jump into clear blue waters. One of my favorite regions of California

The description is deceiving. Reserved a spot for a 20 ft trailer, but there was no place to park our car. The spot was a single spot only, this was not in the description. Tempted to park n the spot next to us but it was reserved...and never showed. Only a few spots are big enough for a camper and car, be careful with the description.... 20 feet means exactly 20 feet. Also, the bathrooms could have been better. Although cleaned every day, there were a few times where the TP ran out AND there was a group of 20 people with like 6 cars at the end of the loop. They parked in the street and we had to back up a 20 ft trailer and try to turn around. The camp host and campers did NOTHING. Not cool. Outside of this, we had a lovely site and the location is peaceful

From Sierra City travel north (east) on Highway 49 for about a half a mile, turn right onto Wild Plum Rd and continue for another 1.5 miles. You will arrive at Wild Plum Campground after crossing the Haypress Creek bridge.
Fromk Sierraville travel south (west) on Highway 49 for 21 miles, turn right onto Wild Plum Rd and continue for another 1.5 miles. You will arrive at Wild Plum Campground after crossing the Haypress Creek bridge.
Wild Plum Campground is accessible via Highway 49, which runs north-south in the area. The campground is located approximately half a mile from Sierra City and 21 miles from Sierraville along Highway 49.

Policies & Rules
General
- In accordance with standard industry practices, we will be assessing a $5 additional vehicle fee on the 'second vehicle' in each single family campsite, and on the 'third and fourth vehicle' in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered to be one vehicle and the third and fourth are also considered to be one vehicle. No additional vehicle fees are collected for bicycles.

- Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed. For current fire conditions or weather closures contact the Yuba River Ranger District (530) 288-3231(voice), (530) 288-3656 (TDD).
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect California's forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. For more information visit firewood.ca.gov.
- No Show Policy A no-show customer is one who does not arrive at a campground and does not cancel the reservation by check-out time on the day after the scheduled arrival date (or for day-use facilities, by check-in time the day of arrival). * No-show customers are only recorded at staffed facilities. At most remote facilities, all customers are noted as automatically checked-in on the date of arrival. * It is recommended that staffed facilities hold a campsite until check-out time on the day following the arrival date. * It is recommended that staffed facilities hold group day-use facilities until check-in time on the arrival date. There is no change fee if a customer extends or shortens a reservation if the change includes dates from the original reservation. If they choose to depart early, they may forfeit some or all of the recreation fees. There is no change fee if the customer changes campsites that are the same price and on the same reservation dates in the same campground. If the campsite the customer is changing to has a price difference, the customer will be responsible for any additional fees or be provided with a refund, based on the price difference. Where recorded, no-show customers are assessed a $20.00 no-show fee and forfeit the first night's recreation fee for a campsite or forfeit the entire day-use recreation fee for a day-use facility. We recommend customers contact the facility if they are en route to their reservation but cannot make it by the check-in date. In these cases, no refund will be issued, but the facility can ensure that a "no-show" fee is not assessed.
