Wild Plum Creek Campground is a sweet clean quiet well maintained campground that I would recommend. The creek is right there and accessible. The camp host is an interesting fellow.

Bathrooms were kept clean for pit toilets. Campgrounds are a little too close to each other and can get hot if not well shaded. Bring lots of bug spray. Yellow jackets and other insects are present.

Nice camp site. Clean bathrooms. Not crowded this year- possibly due to price of gas?
If the forest service is serious about eliminating bear problems, additional bear boxes are needed at each site. A single bear box at each site is insufficient.

The stars were awesome! Camping in the forest was great, but the camping sites were too close together.

Been going to different sites at Wild Plum for 10 years. Have always experienced personable and helpful hosts. Like that the campground is on large creek, is within a mile from the Pacific Crest Trail, and is about a mile off the highway, yet close to the town of Sierra City.

Beautiful campground! Well-spaced sites, many on a creek where the water provides an amazing background ambiance. Peek-a-book views of the Sierra Butte. Great location for day trips to Lakes Basin hikes and lake hang outs.

Beautiful campground with toilets and trash, but no showers. Wood service is fantastic. Disappointed to have a reservation in the upper campground only to have a tent trailer across from our site run their generator ALL DAY LONG. Not what I have in mind when I am getting away to enjoy PEACE in NATURE. The allowance of such noise making devices should be limited to the lower area where the level paved sites are.

From Sierra City travel north (east) on Highway 49 for about a half a mile, turn right onto Wild Plum Rd and continue for another 1.5 miles. You will arrive at Wild Plum Campground after crossing the Haypress Creek bridge.
Fromk Sierraville travel south (west) on Highway 49 for 21 miles, turn right onto Wild Plum Rd and continue for another 1.5 miles. You will arrive at Wild Plum Campground after crossing the Haypress Creek bridge.
Wild Plum Campground is accessible via Highway 49, which runs north-south in the area. The campground is located approximately half a mile from Sierra City and 21 miles from Sierraville along Highway 49.

Policies & Rules
General
- In accordance with standard industry practices, we will be assessing a $5 additional vehicle fee on the 'second vehicle' in each single family campsite, and on the 'third and fourth vehicle' in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered to be one vehicle and the third and fourth are also considered to be one vehicle. No additional vehicle fees are collected for bicycles.

- Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed. For current fire conditions or weather closures contact the Yuba River Ranger District (530) 288-3231(voice), (530) 288-3656 (TDD).
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect California's forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. For more information visit firewood.ca.gov.
- No Show Policy A no-show customer is one who does not arrive at a campground and does not cancel the reservation by check-out time on the day after the scheduled arrival date (or for day-use facilities, by check-in time the day of arrival). * No-show customers are only recorded at staffed facilities. At most remote facilities, all customers are noted as automatically checked-in on the date of arrival. * It is recommended that staffed facilities hold a campsite until check-out time on the day following the arrival date. * It is recommended that staffed facilities hold group day-use facilities until check-in time on the arrival date. There is no change fee if a customer extends or shortens a reservation if the change includes dates from the original reservation. If they choose to depart early, they may forfeit some or all of the recreation fees. There is no change fee if the customer changes campsites that are the same price and on the same reservation dates in the same campground. If the campsite the customer is changing to has a price difference, the customer will be responsible for any additional fees or be provided with a refund, based on the price difference. Where recorded, no-show customers are assessed a $20.00 no-show fee and forfeit the first night's recreation fee for a campsite or forfeit the entire day-use recreation fee for a day-use facility. We recommend customers contact the facility if they are en route to their reservation but cannot make it by the check-in date. In these cases, no refund will be issued, but the facility can ensure that a "no-show" fee is not assessed.
