Beautiful campground. Very quiet. Campground host Ken is Awesome! Take the bear food locker rules seriously. Our neighbors food in a cooler left outside the locker got ravaged by a huge magnificent bear. We enjoyed the watching the bear from a distance 😊.

We stayed at Wild Plum for 3 nights and had a wonderful time in the campground. Being next to the creek was very peaceful. Lots of shade at all the campsites next to the creek. We had bear boxes and lots of space for a few tents at our sites. We will be coming back again one day.

Scenic, quiet, comfortable campground. Camp host was friendly and helpful. Only knock against this place was the difficulty of backing a trailer into a space on the upper loop. Our campsite was situated such that you needed to go around the loop in a specific direction, and we learned that the hard way after driving around the other way due to the lack of signage. If you plan on bringing a trailer here, plan ahead.
Also, there was no cellular service whatsoever, but whether that's a plus or a negative depends on the camper.

Ken, the host, helped us to find a better campsite and the one we ended up on for 2 nights was right above the rushing creek.
Wonderful.

This is a great campsite. Drinking water marked as not potable at the campsite on printed signs taped onto or near spigots, some of which are not clearly visible. Recreation.gov says drinking water is available, Forest Service webpage says it is not. Not clear to me what the deal is, but I'd bring a water filtration system just to be safe.

Really enjoyed our stay here. We had perfect weather and almost the whole place to ourselves. Enjoyed fishing in the creek right behind our tent and on the North Fork of the Yuba just up the road. Only knock against was for the water system being down (there was still water but wasn’t potable) and having to bring our own. We’ll definitely be going back!

This is a beautiful campground. The sites are well spaced, with lots of shade. The lower and upper loops are very different--we stayed in the upper loop, which seemed a little more quiet, but doesn't have direct creek access. The lower loops are great for families, since you can access the creek much more easily. Pit toilets were clean and well-maintained, and bringing your own drinking water is a minor inconvenience. Not having any cell service was both a curse and a blessing. Camp host was super helpful.

Beautiful and peaceful. Roads are narrow so take your time getting through if you’re bringing a trailer

Policies & Rules

General

  • In accordance with standard industry practices, we will be assessing a $5 additional vehicle fee on the 'second vehicle' in each single family campsite, and on the 'third and fourth vehicle' in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered to be one vehicle and the third and fourth are also considered to be one vehicle. No additional vehicle fees are collected for bicycles.
  • Bears frequent the area; all food must be kept in approved containers
  • Utility hookups and showers are not available
  • Click here for more information on the Tahoe National Forest
  • Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed. For current fire conditions or weather closures contact the Yuba River Ranger District (530) 288-3231(voice), (530) 288-3656 (TDD).
  • Don't Move Firewood: Protect California's forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. For more information visit firewood.ca.gov.
  • No Show Policy A no-show customer is one who does not arrive at a campground and does not cancel the reservation by check-out time on the day after the scheduled arrival date (or for day-use facilities, by check-in time the day of arrival).  * No-show customers are only recorded at staffed facilities. At most remote facilities, all customers are noted as automatically checked-in on the date of arrival. * It is recommended that staffed facilities hold a campsite until check-out time on the day following the arrival date. * It is recommended that staffed facilities hold group day-use facilities until check-in time on the arrival date. There is no change fee if a customer extends or shortens a reservation if the change includes dates from the original reservation. If they choose to depart early, they may forfeit some or all of the recreation fees.  There is no change fee if the customer changes campsites that are the same price and on the same reservation dates in the same campground. If the campsite the customer is changing to has a price difference, the customer will be responsible for any additional fees or be provided with a refund, based on the price difference.  Where recorded, no-show customers are assessed a $20.00 no-show fee and forfeit the first night's recreation fee for a campsite or forfeit the entire day-use recreation fee for a day-use facility. We recommend customers contact the facility if they are en route to their reservation but cannot make it by the check-in date. In these cases, no refund will be issued, but the facility can ensure that a "no-show" fee is not assessed.
