Love the campground and its proximity to Lakes Basin trails, Sierra City, Downieville, and Loves Falls. It’s fun to travel through Nevada City area on the way along hwy 49.

Campsite was lovely, quiet, level enough for a tent. The cedar trees dropped lots of sap on the tent fly and some on the car. Pay attention to what's above you.

We love Wild Plum, unfortunately this time the trees were dropping sap like crazy. It didn’t ruin our trip just meant we had a bit more cleaning up to do when we got home. Campground is always amazing

This was our first time at Wild Plum and loved it. We were in campsite #27, on the upper loop and it was very quiet. The campground wasn't full and there were many no shows. The groups and families tend to be in the larger lower loop and along the creek side of the upper loop. We need a very level pad for our little trailer and #27 was perfect. The camp host was cordial and we noted him helping other campers find the right sites for their needs. Loved that we could shop in Sierra City just minutes away, visit the Kentucky Mine close by, be hiking in the Lakes Basin area within 30 minutes, then return to our peaceful home in the woods for a quiet night.

Great Camp Hosts. This year's camp host was awesome. Loved the vibe. This location always has good camp hosts. I usually don't interact with them much but needed to this year. I couldn't have been more pleased.
At many other campground you get nosey camp hosts who are constantly "patrolling" and make you feel uncomfortable with the constant distraction of them driving around in the golf carts checking up on everyone. It's annoying AF. Not only is it noisy, but it just feels like big brother is watching you constantly. A lesson to all campground host contractors....leave us alone. We're here to enjoy nature, not deal with being constantly watched. It feels like the campground police are always patrolling. I've heard some stories from local Sheriff deputies that are alarming when it comes to some camp hosts.

Fromk Sierraville travel south (west) on Highway 49 for 21 mi, turn right onto Wild Plum Rd and continue for another 1.5 mi. You will arrive at Wild Plum Campground after crossing the Haypress Creek bridge.
Highway access
Wild Plum Campground is accessible via Highway 49, which runs north-south in the area. The campground is located approximately half a mile from Sierra City and 21 miles from Sierraville along Highway 49.
Policies & Rules
General
- In accordance with standard industry practices, we will be assessing a $5 additional vehicle fee on the 'second vehicle' in each single family campsite, and on the 'third and fourth vehicle' in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered to be one vehicle and the third and fourth are also considered to be one vehicle. No additional vehicle fees are collected for bicycles.

- Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed. For current fire conditions or weather closures contact the Yuba River Ranger District (530) 288-3231(voice), (530) 288-3656 (TDD).
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect California's forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. For more information visit firewood.ca.gov.
- No Show Policy A no-show customer is one who does not arrive at a campground and does not cancel the reservation by check-out time on the day after the scheduled arrival date (or for day-use facilities, by check-in time the day of arrival). * No-show customers are only recorded at staffed facilities. At most remote facilities, all customers are noted as automatically checked-in on the date of arrival. * It is recommended that staffed facilities hold a campsite until check-out time on the day following the arrival date. * It is recommended that staffed facilities hold group day-use facilities until check-in time on the arrival date. There is no change fee if a customer extends or shortens a reservation if the change includes dates from the original reservation. If they choose to depart early, they may forfeit some or all of the recreation fees. There is no change fee if the customer changes campsites that are the same price and on the same reservation dates in the same campground. If the campsite the customer is changing to has a price difference, the customer will be responsible for any additional fees or be provided with a refund, based on the price difference. Where recorded, no-show customers are assessed a $20.00 no-show fee and forfeit the first night's recreation fee for a campsite or forfeit the entire day-use recreation fee for a day-use facility. We recommend customers contact the facility if they are en route to their reservation but cannot make it by the check-in date. In these cases, no refund will be issued, but the facility can ensure that a "no-show" fee is not assessed.
