We had a fantastic time at this camping site overall. The spot we stayed in was noticeably bigger than most, which gave us plenty of space to set up and relax. There’s also an extra space in the back where you can set your tent under a tree, making it nice and secluded.
The camp hosts were amazing—super friendly and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. However, it’s worth noting that the site is located right next to the bathroom, and unfortunately, the smell can be quite strong at times. Another downside is the lack of access to the creek, which was a bit disappointing, but we managed to enjoy our time regardless.
On peak days, the site is in direct sunlight, so I highly recommend bringing a canopy or something similar to get some shade. Despite these minor issues, we had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to return next year! The positives definitely outweighed the negatives for us, and we’re already looking forward to our next trip.

One of the best campgrounds here, near the water.

We recently went camping and had an amazing experience. The river was absolutely stunning, providing a serene backdrop to our days. The campsite itself was incredibly comfortable, with all the amenities we needed to relax and enjoy nature.

Great place with friendly people and staff. Nice rocky area so make sure you put something down for the floor of your tent. Nice views and many pools along the road and trail to swim in. There is a nature walk with placards near the end of the campground but please watch out for rattlesnakes. Overall it’s a great place with no reception to help unplug. Will be going again next year.

The camp site was adjacent to the river, close to the toilets, had a private loop for parking, and was very clean. The staff was attentive and took care of our check in without ever making contact. I have been to Wheeler Gorge several times and will definitely return to make more great memories.

The campsite we were at was basically on the highway. Be careful booking the sites close to the road because it's right next to it and loud. Feels sort of dangerous.
