Dillon Creek Campground

You could hear the river rushing from the campsite, very quiet and peaceful.

We had a wonderful time. Great swimming hole in Dillon Ck. We'll be back!

There are a variety of campsite layouts to choose from. Some are right up against the campground road, and others are tucked into the trees and right on the edge of the steep slope above the creek. I highly recommend taking the short trail down to the creek while you are there for a relaxing sit by beautiful emerald waters.

Dillon Creek is a nice quiet campground near the Klamath River. We swam in the crystal clear cold water of the creek. Be aware of the mosquitoes in the summer though.

Beautiful place. I arrived much later than my reservation but a sign with my name was clear and easy to find. Will be back!

Very nice campground, bathroom not so nice and very dark. TONS of mosquitoes, swarms and swarms and swarms. Big space. The creek down a 5 minute trail is GORGEOUS

The road that goes between Happy Camp and 199 was closed and is the only reasonable option between the campground and the redwoods. I couldn't use the site for the purpose of seeing the redwoods as intended. When I made the reservation the site identified that it's close to redwoods national park but with that road closed it's not close. You need to go to Yreka, I-5 north to Medford/Grant pass then take 199 into the redwoods.

Nearest smallest town for supplies is about 25 - 30 miles away in Happy Camp and 1.5 - 2 hours from Yreka, CA. We thought we had packed enough mosquito supplies but after arriving, nothing worked so we had to go back into Yreka the next day for more mosquito repellent supplies. There is no cellular service with Verizon Wireless or AT&T through our new vehicle (necessary when you find out last minute that the McCash Fire is just over the ridge). The hike down to the river across the road was easy even as a luscious person (bigger person). There is blue and green algae in the river nearby so you cannot take a dip unless you'd like to be hospitalized hours away from the nearest one. The bathrooms were clean, no official wash station so bring your own soap, towels, and spray if you've got a family who lights up the bathroom like an atomic bomb. There are campfire pits and full-length tables at each camping spot.

We grew up in Happy Camp and plan a trip to Dillion every year. Despite the excessive wildfire smoke, our site was clean, the bathrooms were clean. There was some trash at the swimming holes, but we totally understand that it is out of the realm of what the FS can control. Praying our happy place doesn’t burn.

Why do you not refund people when there is a mudslide/fires all around. Horrible service and will never return.
