Extremely loud trains all night. The proximity was not noted in the campsite information. No potable water, no shower. The site itself was very small, with no real tent site and we had to pitch our tent in asphalt.

We never saw the host. Group Site B is at an incline with limited spots for tents. I’m not sure how you’d fit 25 people, but site A and C seemed worse for tent camping. Site C is good for RVs and a few tents. Site B had great shade - site A had limited shade, but their own bathroom. There’s parking at site B for about 4 cars - sites A and C fit more cars. There’s a paved walking path that goes through campsite B - group C kept using it instead of walking around our site so expect less privacy. Site B also had just one bear box and 3 picnic tables.
Overall we did have a good time, but thankfully half our group had to cancel last minute because we wouldn’t have known where to put their tents.

Stayed at Spanish Creek Campground Site #22 for 8 nights -- a wonderful experience. The creek and "swimming hole" were fantastic, the campsite very spacious. Table, fire ring and parking space sufficient for two trucks all part of the site. Access to nearby Quincy was a quick ten minutes away -- very convenient. The camp host was friendly and patrolled the campground twice a day. No potable water at this campground, however, we washed dishes and clothes in our site using the non-potable water. Just wish they had more staff to clean the bathrooms more frequently, but other than that small complaint, we really enjoyed our week at Spanish Creek.

The campground was nice, bathrooms clean, and the site we got was great and decently secluded.

My 2-night stay at Spanish Creek lived up to the recommendation I had received that it is the best camp ground near Quincy. The location is exquisitely beautiful. The campground has a day use area that features a large swimming hole great for families, with a sandy beach, shady trees, a rope swing, and picnic tables. The campsites vary in size. All are close enough to the river. Several are right on the river with their own little private sandy beach access. A small walk down river and you will find a series of little white water rapids cascading into smaller water holes, perfect for taking cold plunges and then sitting and sunning on rocks.
One of the best features of Spanish Creek Campground is the camp manager, Jay Morris. I've never met a camp ranger more committed to helping campers have the best possible camp experience!

A very relaxed campsite beautiful area. The only reason it wasn't excellent was there was hardly toilet paper in the bathroom luckily I bring my own.

This was a great spot. We had three campsites near each other for our group of about 16 (we were gonna cancel to only have two sites but it was really nice having the extra space). The waterhole was beautiful, our group swam and even did morning polar plunges. It was a bit confusing when we arrived as we weren’t sure if we needed to check in somewhere but the sites had our names on it so we just went and set up. The camp host came around and checked in a few times over the days we were there. The only thing is bring cash for paying for extra parking and firewood etc. it’s kinda a put cash in the box/trust system. The sites were great and the bathrooms were well kept. The only problem was I think someone decided to toss their fish extras into one of the toilets so about halfway through that toilet smelt like tuna but nothing the camp could do about that. Also it’s really close to the Twain General Store and they have decision sandwiches and more so if you want to grab some food or little things it’s not far at all. We plan to come back next year!
