Expensive for how small the site was.

Campground was fine. Seemed small for a group campsite. Lacked any potable water and dumpsters were located in the single family campsite.

The camp spot was wonderful, but the camp hist never came by yo check on anything. When the other campsites were partying until 3 am she did not ask them to turn the music down, so my kids were not able to sleep at all. We packed up and left early gecause of it. We wasted an entire night that we did not get our money back because the camp host did not enforce the 10:00 pm quiet time.

We enjoyed our stay at Spanish Creek. However, the bathrooms could be a little cleaner, and the campsites were a little weedy. We'll visit the campsite again, as the host was great and painlessly solved our logistical issues. The swimming hole was great, and that area was free from litter. The campsite and swimming hole areas were not buggy - a big plus! (We visited in late July.) Although completely outside the control of the campsite, trains roll by 2-3 times in the middle of the night. It was not a big deal for us.

I did not see a provision for entering my Senior Pass number when making my reservation online, which resulted in paying twice for the site what I should have. We wanted to stay an additional night. I checked with the camp host(ess) who told me that the site was reserved by someone else. Consequently, we moved to another site. The people who reserved our original site never showed up.
On the up side, the hostess was helpful and friendly. The swimming hole on Spanish Creek is wonderful.

Great campground but be prepared to wake up to the train 2-3 times at night.

This is a lovely campground in a very pretty area of the state. We are train enthusiasts and chose this campground specifically because of other reviewer's complaints of train noise. Take note: there are active train tracks near this campground and you will hear train noise at all times of day and night. For us, this was a highlight and we loved seeing and hearing the trains. If you are not expecting this, I could see that it would be a big downer. There is nice swimming area on the creek near the campground. Clean vault toilets. Very nice camp host. Very quiet campground (other than the trains!). No showers, poor to no cell phone reception.

This is a fairly rustic campsite. Close to highway and lots of pavement and concrete. We pulled in and decided to drive to a more scenic and natural campground.
