Lovely campground next to a creek with a swimming hole. Camp host, Manny, was super helpful and friendly. Vault toilets were clean. Site #20 (tent only) has full shade. Campground is near a freight rail line. We didn’t mind the occasional noise but could see how it might bother others. The town of Quincy is 10 miles away; it has a market, snack shops, and gas station. Otherwise the area is pretty remote. Recommend for camping, fishing, hiking.

The location and amenities were fabulous. The camp host on the other hand, was invasive and at times inappropriate.
He came in to our campground without announcing himself or asking/receiving permission to show photos of his personal animal. And then again when he said a snake was sighted on the grounds. Another time he approached my young adult daughter who was wedged between her car and car door changing her clothing to inquire about the extra car fee that my husband had already addressed with him. He stopped us in the road when we were walking to a friends site to ask where we were going and why we were taking a table. The whole experience was uncomfortable and often times felt like we were being interrogated. We’ve never seen or had run ins with a host as many times as we did in this trip. We won’t go back.

I really like this place. It was a boy scout camp I went to for a couple of years back in the early 60's. This redo into a campground is well thought out.
No cell service so be prepared to drive to Quincy if you need to reach out. The creek: Fishing is so-so, swimming is good. This site is next to a major railway going through the Feather rive canyon so if you don't like train noise this is not a place to visit. Its very popular day use for the locals.

We stayed at Spanish Creek for only one night while we were on a trip heading north. This is a place that I would love to return to spend a longer time. We stayed in the upper camp which was just a short walk to the swimming hole. It was extremely quiet at night except for the occasional train (which does not bother me at all). Out site (no. 5) was very large. We parked out 26 foot motor home and had a large area with a picnic table and fire ring. We have a motor home so we did not use the bathrooms but we peeked inside anyway. They were extremely clean. Our camp host was very gracious and attentive. Hopefully we will return soon.

Beautiful site, lots of space. Yellow jackets were no joke, but were manageable. This campground was pretty noisy at times (trains and party sites on the weekend), so bring earplugs. Mornings were much more chill.
No Covid precautions were being taken, either by the host or in cleaning the shared spaces. The camp host was the biggest downside. Manny was overenthusiastic, bordering on creepy. He was also disorganized and difficult to work with.

Loved the area, the creek is super accessible and provide tons of activities.
Manny, the camp host, was super thoughtful and took really good care of the campground/campers needs.
The facilities were very clean and so was the grounds. Lots of room per site.
The train is noisy but it made the experience.
Again, I have never had a camp host call in before the reservation to check-in, it is a first and I thank Manny for his awesome care/attitude.
