What Guests Are Saying
Sycamore Grove Campground offers a beautiful, well-maintained setting with green grass, spacious sites, and clean bathrooms, including coin-operated showers. Many guests appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and friendly camp hosts, making it a great stop for travelers. However, some concerns were raised about noisy campers, the condition of pit toilets, and occasional issues with camp host interactions. Overall, it's considered a lovely place to relax and enjoy nature, especially for short stays.

The 50 amp electrical was out of order and it was not reported when we made the reservation. It looked like it had been out of order for quite awhile

Nice camp site. Showers and bathrooms were clean and tidy. The Host, his electric service cart and grounds around his trailer were a DUMP however. The guy is pretty grumpy. Does not seem in keeping with what I usually experience with Hosts at State and Federal camp sites. I stayed here on two occasions in a week, on my way to and back from Furnace Creek Campground in Death Valley. On the first visit the Host showed up and asked for my reservation. I tried to show it to him and he snapped back to just give him the last 4 digits. When I came back, I arrived around 6 PM after dark. I found an open site and used my phone to make a reservation. I then went to the shower house but could not recall the door code so I went an knocked on the Hosts trailer door (the sign by the trailer said "Host on Duty"). The grounds around his trailer was littered with garbage. After about a minute, he answered the door. He asked if I had a reservation and I said yes. He did not ask for proof. I asked for the door code and he could not initially recall it. Finally came up with the code.
The sign on the park gate says that the campground entrance gate closes at 10 PM and I believe that it was to open at 6 AM. The exit side is open 24 hours, protected by tire guards. I left the next morning at 5:30 AM and noticed that the entrance gate was open. It seems that I did hear cars driving through the park after 10 PM and since the gate was open at 5:30 I doubt that the Host closed the gate that night (or is it an automatic open/close gate system??).
All in all, I would stay here again. You should consider a different Host however.

The bathrooms were not as clean as they were when I stayed here before and one of the stall doors wouldnt shut all the way. The grass was not mowed and I worried about ticks.
other than that my dog and I both enjoyed our stay. This is a gorgeous campground
and the weather was nice and sunshining. But very cold at night!
