Great campground and host but the traffic noise from I-5 made me leave one day early! Could not relax. Maybe the sites to the east are a little more quiet. The launch ramp nearby is not protected from boat wakes, boats on the outside of the dock get slammed into it.

The three spots that I rented at Ackerman was perfect. It was very accommodating, and the staff was so polite and attending!! Anything we needed, they always brought it to us. The water was very cold, but it was expected. Beautiful scenery.

Campground was super quiet and the camp hosts were great. Bathrooms were always very clean and stocked with toilet paper. We even received wood delivered to our site by our hosts. It was very hot and the water was too cold but the lake isn’t too far away.

It’s a cute little campground but if you want a lake that is easy to get to and swim in, then this is not your campsite lol. I stupidly didn’t check what Trinity lake was good for before booking due to it being a last minute decision to take a camping trip. I’d only come if you have a boat or some kind of water craft to take onto the lake or you don’t mind driving 35+ minutes to the alps for the hikes. It was crazy hot in mid July, 108 degrees.
