What Guests Are Saying
Cooper Gulch Campground features a beautiful location with fantastic views and a quiet atmosphere, making it a great spot for families and outdoor activities like kayaking. While there were concerns about the absence of water, an inattentive camp host, and occasional overcrowding due to non-campers, many visitors still enjoyed their experience and expressed a desire to return. Overall, the campground remains a favored destination for its scenic beauty and tranquil environment.

The lack of potable water at the campsite was a very big disappointment. Also due to the trouble the Trinity Lake dam turbines were having, the flow and drainage of water into Lewiston Lake were stopped. As a result, a parasitic bloom in the water, referred to as "swimmers itch" was a big enough deterrent to keep us out of the water for swim and play.
I also was told by the Shasta Parks worker that Recreation.gov would be issuing me a partial refund for the lack of potable water at Cooper Gulch campsite, since I had made and paid for the reservations long before I was notified that there is no water available at the campsite. How and when will I be refunded for this?
