Dinkey Creek

The bathroom adjacent to this site kept getting clogged by campers. The staff was good about resolving that issue. One of the faucets in the bathrooms did not work though and people were using the potable water spicket to wash their hands. This double site was very large though, almost too much so for our smaller group which can be a plus to others. Fairly exposed at this site as well, which was nice on a chiller weekend.

We arrived and couldn’t get our trailer into our reserved site. The staff went out of their way to find a site that fit. The bathrooms are always clean. Tammy and all the hosts were great.

Very clean campground, paved parking at campsites, forest partially open with beautiful large trees. clean bathrooms. store nearby with basic supplies and small grill and outdoor tables, not a lot of privacy if the campground is full, beautiful Dinky Creek nearby with great swimming and marginal fishing, planted with brook trout and rainbows. Good physical agility to access the creek.

It is the second time we have booked the campsite 120, because it has a lot of space and is very close to the river, the bathrooms are clean and very nice Campsite, except one thing was wrong, the grill was bad we wanted to cook there and it was not possible, They have to fix it!

Great location. Check in personnel are very kind and helpful. It was our first time camping in May and the weather was great. The only thing I would suggest is housekeeping to stock up on toliet paper in the evenings- bc by the morning toliet paper would be running low or out due to the qty of campers.

Coming from a well seasoned camper:

Pros:
-great nature, campground surrounded by water, beautiful trees and weather
-campground hosts were friendly and thoughtful
-Dinkey creek store across street (not campground owned) was fantastic
-overall it was quiet and respectful, mostly young families

Cons:
-might have been too early in the season but no one at entry station, therefore no calls to inquire about things leading up to
-maps search (Apple and Google) is wrong on entry location, everyone in my group seemed to get confused on the way in
-toilets barely flushed, 1/2 stalls open, and no sink water (and no soap- which is pretty typical)
-water spouts not labeled potable or not: still unknown
-perhaps a crazy time of the year to swim but some fishermen seemed very frustrated that our group got into the creek at Honeymoon pool oops
-this campground has NO showers. Only the dinky creek store close to the entry has showers open 10-6 PM. Trade $4 for a token at the counter for 4 minute of shower (showers not in great condition and cool/mild
-$57 a night was a bit steep compared to other CA campgrounds I’ve been to

Site number 26 was the best campsite. The only concern was a huge tree falling 100 yards from our campsite.

Campground is Isolated enough to be away from people but not isolated enough to be alone. Bathrooms and campsites were clean. Only complaint i can say is the campsite is superclose to the road. The table was literally an arms length away. Oh, and absolutely no cell service.

Beautiful area, campgrounds are very well maintained, and the staff is always so friendly. Dinkey creek is just a short hike down from most campsites.

My family and I had an amazing time and the staff are very friendly and helpful with anything you need. I really love that there is no service on our phone it help disconnect from reality and the kids are not locked in on a screen.
