September 22, 2022 Stayed at: 15, Loop: MANZANITA LAKE CAMPING CABINS
The little cabin was very cute. It was also cleaner than all the hotels we stayed at on the rest of our trip. I was worried we would be cold as the temps were dropping at night but the little heater kept us toasty warm. There was a table and chairs in the cabin and a fire pit and picnic table next to the cabin. Highly recommend this great cabin experience!

I’ve stayed many times over the years and the cabins seem to be falling into disrepair. Missing curtains, broken and missing mini blinds. They’ve changed the procedures for showering, but neglected to tell campers ahead of arrival.

I checked multiple places and all had conflicting info about pets brijg allowed. I also was put off by the envelope with “tips encouraged” written on it laying on the table. I ended up deciding not to stay the evening there and just be in my tent, as it felt very unwelcoming and the conflicting info provided was not helpful.

Location of the cabins is great, easy walk down to Manzanita Lake, trails, etc. It is a rustic experience with pit toilets but everything was very clean. Quiet campground. Unfortunately the camp store was under-staffed and they could not accommodate kayak rentals; would recommend bringing your own if you are able to.

Redding is approximately three hours north of Sacramento on State Highway 5 and approximately 4.5 hours from the San Francisco Bay Area. From Redding, drive 48 mi east on State Highway 44. Turn right into Lassen Volcanic National Park and continue one mile south to the Manzanita Lake Campground, Camper Store and Cabins.
