We stayed in loop farthest from the hwy. It was quiet and very pleasant. The campsites are spaced well apart with adequate screening. Water readily available. Pit toilets were clean and well maintained. Camp host was excellent! A couple of nice trails in the campground. The town of Sierraville is close by. It’s small . Had a good restaurant for dinner and a store to get supplies and breakfast. We actually forgot the camp stove so took advantage of the town. Close to Independence lake. A nature conservancy preserve with free kayak use Thursday through Sunday.

I can not say enough good things or express the joy it was to spend 2 weeks at Cottonwood Creek campground. It's a beautiful peaceful campground just close enough to civilization and plenty far at the same time to really feel the escape. The GREATEST part of my trip has to be the friendship and bond I made with the hosts. Carrie and Pat are truly family to me now. They work harder for and care more about the campers experience than just about any hosts I've ever been around. They go above and beyond with making sure everyone knows the rules (telling you in a conversation not just reading from a card), making sure everyone understands it's a community that watches out for each other. The campground this year has had a bear frequently about, but Pat and Carrie have been vigilant about keeping visitors "bear aware" and having everyone follow a bear in camp signal with car horns just enough to make it known and not misused. They've been doing extra patrolling collecting trash bags from campers at night to run to dumpster, just so it isn't forgotten about by anyone overnight.

Pat and Carrie are class acts, friendly, nature minded, and just great examples of what a great host can be. I look forward to returning and camping at Cottonwood Creek campground again and hopefully with Pat and Carrie especially

Host was great. Facilities were very will maintained. My only complaint was my site was at a fairly steep slope and made it difficult to walk around

Beautiful Campground with World-Class Hosts!
Cottonwood Creek is a clean, stunning campsite surrounded by enormous trees, complete with a wonderful trail following the creek.
The highlight of our trip was definitely the camp hosts, Patrick and Carolyn. They knew all the best local spots for food and sightseeing, and their hospitality was unmatched. When I accidentally locked my keys in my car, they went way above and beyond to help us resolve it quickly so we could enjoy our trip. Patrick and Carolyn are truly the best! Highly recommended.

Would be a 5 star except the trailer lengths listed when booking are not accurate but the hosts moved us to a site that was big enough to accommodate our trailer. I do not recommend bringing trailers over 25 - 30 feet long even if the booking page says it can accommodate them.

The campground was clean and well maintained, the hosts were friendly and eager to make everyone’s stay enjoyable. We went over the Fourth of July weekend and it was quiet and safe for our young children. Our kids had a blast and enjoyed the hike to a nearby waterfall recommended by the hosts. We took our puppy and she also enjoyed the evening strolls around the campground and even though there were several other dogs around we rarely heard barking. I highly recommend this site to families looking for a great place to disconnect from the daily grind. We did not have Verizon cell service and it was wonderful.

The camp hosts were amazing. The campground was so clean, they checked in and kept everything together. They really made our first trip out so good, and would be a top reason we return.

Nice campground hosts. Quiet location. The lack of potable water was very inconvenient and not the first time during our stays over the years.
