What Guests Are Saying
Cottonwood Creek is a beautiful, well-maintained campground offering a peaceful retreat with clean facilities and a variety of nearby activities. Visitors appreciated the solitude, cleanliness, and natural beauty, making it ideal for camping and outdoor photography. However, some campsites were uneven or small, and there were occasional wasps, but overall, the positive experiences outweigh the negatives, with many guests planning to return.

We liked this campground. Sites are well kept and the bathrooms were relatively clean. We really liked the hike to the Overlook, about 45 minutes ascent on the way up but you get rewarded with some amazing views.

Kurt was a phenomenal host! Spot 46 covered in fire ants and mosquitos. Area was very sandy but always nice to be outdoors.

The both the nature trail and overlook trails are nice trails to hike. The campsites are far enough away from Highway 89 to not hear the road noise.

Be aware that the campsite lengths are not accurate in the website descriptions. The one that I reserved said it would fit up to a 25 foot trailer. Mine is 20 and though it fit, there was no way to park the car in the site as well, so I had to move. Camp hosts are not engaged or active in monitoring the campground.

This is a beautiful campsite conveniently located off of highway 89 south of Sierraville. There is a nice hike you can take right from the campsite. In addition, there are other places to hike, paddle, mountain bike or bird within a short drive.

Nice and shady campground with large sites. Pads are narrow, so much so that when stepping out of the trailer there is a steep decline you have to account for. Choose the back loop for the quietest experience, as you can barely hear the road noise. Trail to the lookout point leaves the campground is a strenuous uphill hike but a good one. Stayed in site #17.
