What Guests Are Saying
Cottonwood Creek is a beautiful, well-maintained campground offering a peaceful retreat with clean facilities and a variety of nearby activities. Visitors appreciated the solitude, cleanliness, and natural beauty, making it ideal for camping and outdoor photography. However, some campsites were uneven or small, and there were occasional wasps, but overall, the positive experiences outweigh the negatives, with many guests planning to return.

The campground was at about 50% capacity and the weekend after Memorial Day. As a result no partiers were really there so it was a nice, quiet and relaxing weekend. The campground was in okay condition, the current camp host doesn’t do as good of a job as the hosts of previous years. The fire pits were cleaned out and the vault toilets were in pretty bad shape compared to previous hosts care and maintenance.

Nice easy to get to campground. Camp host was very friendly. There’s a couple of nice trails to take and it’s within driving distance of other nearby hiking areas.

Lindsay and her husband were great camp hosts. We enjoyed the campground and the two nearby hikes at the trail head near the overflow parking.
We recommend the park service evaluate not listing camp site #39 as one for an RV/travel trailer. The pad is too small and this camp site would be best suited for tent camping only. Even if you bring a small travel trailer or tent trailer, there is no where to park your tow vehicle. Unfortunately some of the best camp sites at Cottonwood Creek for RVs can not be reserved as they are not reservable, and are designated first come first serve. We recommend the park service consider including these camp sites on the list of sates that can be reserved in advance.

Pleasant campground. Sites are a bit tightly nestled together, but we were there during a smoky weekend and many sites were vacant, so it was super quiet and wonderful. YMMV. Some sites are farther away from the road than others and quieter.

One of our favorite campgrounds but no campground hosts this time around. We really missed the attention and pride Rick and Nancy put into the keeping the grounds.
