What Guests Are Saying
Cottonwood Creek is a beautiful, well-maintained campground offering a peaceful retreat with clean facilities and a variety of nearby activities. Visitors appreciated the solitude, cleanliness, and natural beauty, making it ideal for camping and outdoor photography. However, some campsites were uneven or small, and there were occasional wasps, but overall, the positive experiences outweigh the negatives, with many guests planning to return.

Great little campground if you are comfortable with the basics i.e. vault toilets. Some camp sites are a little tight and you can be stacked on your neighbor, but it's a good thing of you have a large group and want to share. Campground hosts were great and friendly and you get plenty of wood for your money.
Both of the trails are nice and fairly well maintained, although do not expect easy access to water.

One of the worst campsites I've ever been at. Bathrooms were so disgusting, sites are jammed together host is rude. There is nothing good about this campground not even a decent river close by to enjoy.
By far one of the worst campsites we've ever had the displeasure of staying at.

My family was the first family to camp at Cottonwood over 55 years ago. It’s pretty much the same as it was then nice and quiet.

Arrived to find that our 24 foot travel trailer could NOT be backed into the space. The website states 25 feet. However, the very narrow road lined with barriers does not allow space for a tow vehicle to maneuver. I tried several times. There's just not enough space allowed to back a 24 ft trailer into the space which is also barriered by large boulders at the front.
We ended up having to eat the reservation cost (68 bucks)... and go off trailer in tow looking for an available spot somewhere else.

Safe campsite. Restroom looked clean. Sites are close together which I liked if you travel single no worries. Nice shady coverage. I enjoyed a peaceful time just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful trees.

We were expecting much cooler temperatures in that high of the altitude, but it was hot, around 95 during the day. Very dry camp sites with ton of dust around the picnic tables and common areas of the site. Nothing to do around in the close proximity other than a drive to Tahoe or Truckee

Bathrooms extremely dirty, camp host had a lack of communication didn't tell us about moving the campsites around, and we had reservations for our families to be together but he separated all of us.

The campground was more crowded than it has been in past years. I had a family next to me who came fairly close to the boundary of my site. Fortunately they became quiet during the quiet hours.
