Beautiful site with a very large parking area (2 large vehicles would fit easily). A bit of a steep hill down to the site from the parking area.
The site sits on a meadow, and you can pitch your tent right on the edge of it. Bears came out to forage every morning and early evening. They never came near our site, but it was fun watching them.
It’s a short walk to the bathroom/shower and directly across from the trailhead that leads to Fallen Leaf Lake. The site has some shade. The campground was quiet and off the beaten path…away from the craziness of the South Lake Tahoe beaches. Definitely the best campground in South Lake Tahoe.

Excellent experience accept for registering for a site. Gate should be able to assign and take payment for empty sites. We had to drive over 20 minutes away to use internet to extend our stay. Too stupid.

Very handy to have a dump station onsite. The 1/2 mile approach desperately needs repairs and widening. It's just a bunch of potholes glued together.

Excellent campground. With great personnel. I had a great experience from start to finish. Loved that you can walk to the lake from your campsite. Lots of bear activity! So be sure to store your food properly!

Gorgeous campground on a quiet lake.
Beware do bears. Saw multiple just walking through the campground during evenings.
The people who work at the camp don’t make it easy. I was questioned multiple times about my “tow vehicle” and even checked the front to ensure it was indeed a tow. Kind of insulting.

It was really entertaining to watch a bear tear up my neighbors campsite. Nature at its best. Beautiful campground as well with a great location.

Beautiful campground, spacious spots and quiet. Definite very active bear activity, though.
