Fallen Leaf Campground was wonderful with the largest pinecones we've ever seen. Lots of bear activity in the area in the springtime, but we didn't have any encounters. Fallen Leaf Lake is a hidden gem!

Love this campsite! The camp host was super sweet, and we were able to carry our water gear to Fallen Leaf Lake no problem. A bear did come through, but moved along quickly after pawing at our bear box!

Park is exceptional and one of our favorites. Staff/Hosts are outstanding! Site 20 is not very RV friendly, will be difficult to level RV, pretty significant downward slant from front to back.

Thouroughly enjoyed 2 days and nights at Fallen Leaf campground ! We were very lucky to have sunny warm weather in early Spring . Fallen Leaf is a beautiful and beautifully maintained campground with a very friendly and enjoyable staff . Location is close-ish to a commercial area - convenient to amenities yet feels removed from them . Bike paths that take you everywhere around Tahoe connect with the camp ground . Fallen Leaf lake a short walk from a campground connected pathway - it’s a spectacularly beautiful lake . Lake Tahoe area is spectacular and this camp ground is a gem . Don’t leave any food out of the provided bear boxes ! There ARE bears that can’t resist the smell of food and toiletries !
We watched a very large black bear disrupt a neighbor campers breakfast and enjoyed slurping up the bacon grease sitting at their picnic table ! Campground employees were very responsive and sternly but calmly helped getting the bear move on.

Camp 74: Spacious campsites that are surrounded by pine trees. 5 min. walk to pic perfect Fallen Leaf Lake with still, glassy, clear water that mirrors the adjacent snow lined mountains. Truly a magical place to visit. But do be mindful of the bears...some are on the smaller side 2-300 lbs. but others look like a refrigerator w/arms/legs & a head. HUGE. *Please be sure to use the bear lockers* Any hiking (away from campground especially) should carry bear spray or air horn & remember to make a lot of noise when moving about (especially in the early morning). Good adventuring & above all, be safe.

Check in was easy. The camp hosts were happy and friendly. The shower we used was very clean. We love Fallen Leaf! Lots to do locally or do nothing at all. Your choice.
