Fallen Leaf Campground

We loved this campsite!

Campsite was immaculate! And awesome! Bears were active, lake was beautiful. Camp host was alert and helpful.

So much better than the city’s campground!

Beautiful, peaceful location. Enjoyed lots of space between the campsites. Only problem when we visited was that the water had been shut down due to some problem. If that problem is corrected, I would put it on my list ofexcellent campgrounds to visit.

Beautiful, well managed campground also well maintained except for the roads, which were in very poor condition. Bear activity was high and they are oblivious to people, noise, and other efforts to get them to move out of the campground, even during the day with people and pets around. Access to the lake itself was not well marked and there is an extra $10 charge for the lake access parking lot. Considering the high $41 cost camping for a USFS campground, I'd expect this and the dump station fee ($10) to be included. The good news is that there's a dump station. Given all of the above, I'd stay here again.

Great location, very nice campground. Facilities were as "to be expected" for a campsite. We were told that there was a lot of bear activity within the campground and that we would for sure see a bear but no luck :-( a surprise was the "false tarantulas" crawling everywhere :-( Staff is very nice.

Bears! This campground was very nice, but the bears were no joke. We had one enter our camp shortly after dark while we were sitting by the fire, and had to scare another one off that was approaching later in the evening. We heard several other campers doing the same until late. They also investigated our vehicle throughout the night even though it was completely empty of all items. They weren’t aggressive, but I would not recommend this campground to anyone who is uncomfortable with these scenarios. We followed all protocols for storing food and scented items in the bear boxes and still had this experience. Our visit was during mid-September with a relatively full campground.
