Campsite lines were a little hard to see in the dark.

This is a nice small campground. Sites 1,2,3 are practically on the road but have a very close view of the lake. We stayed in site 4. Sites 4 and 5 are very close together. You never know if you have loud or quiet respectful neighbors. There was a large group of people staying in Site 5 so I was worried it would be too loud because I am sensitive to sound, luckily they were very respectful and loud. Site 4 and 5 have a nice view of the lake. Site 4 has a nice little side trail leading down to the bathroom and parking lot. For sites 5-9 you have to go down the stairs to get to the parking lot and the bathroom, it’s really not that much longer but having that direct path from 4 was nice because then we didn’t have to walk by other campsites and disturb people every time we went by. 4 and 5 are right next to houses and are separated by a little fence, this was fine but I am just sharing that if you want to feel like you are out camping away from civilization you wont feel like it here.
Sites 7 and 8 looked very close together. 6 was a little farther up from the stairs and 9 was furthest from the stairs. Most people probably know that when you want to select a site to reserve, the campsites on the map are not always to scale as far as how close in proximity they are to each other which is why I am trying to explain each site as best as I can. All had a lake view. I believe 6 and 9 had less of a view, but I didn’t go back to them to look because they were occupied. Beware, you are so close to the lake so the view is great, you are also close to the road so the car noise is loud and pretty constant. I knew that would be the case so I won’t give this campground a bad review because of that - you just have to know what to expect when coming here. Great view, close proximity to lake, and close proximity to cars. Across the road there is a dock you can walk out on which is cool. One bathroom has a sink with running water water which was great.

Great place for a long weekend if you don’t mind the road noise. We were at a ‘lower’ campsite, so the road is right there but we did not have to take the stairs, so it was a trade off. Very friendly camp host. Easy access to the bike path on the shore, a public access dock, some shoreline that doesn’t quite feel like ‘beach’ but can fit a towel. A great public beach about a mile north. Barker Pass road is right there and goes back to a huge trail system.

This was a fantastic location! So beautiful and you could walk right across the road to the water. It was perfect for sunrise as well being on the West side of the lake. Simple campground - but that's all you need somewhere like Tahoe.

Host was great. Road noise was a little more than I would prefer. Fire pits were so tall you couldn’t see the fire unless you built a massive one. A neighbor did not abide by the bear rules and a large cinnamon colored black bear got into all of their food and hung out a bit much. My dad and I named him Cecil. Be sure to keep your food and scented things put away properly and it should be no issue.

Weather was great for stay. Love the location of Lake and public dock nearby. Host very attentive for bears and safety of campers. Rinse off shower or electricity connections would help location and campers.

The walk in to site 9 was excessive. We are in good shape and were exhausted after lugging our gear in and out. A wheelbarrow or large wagon would be helpful. There’s also a problem bear that was stalking our site. We caught it sneaking up to us in the dark to try to steal food even though it was all in the box. It was very desensitized to humans (took a while for it to leave) and eventually got someone’s food a couple sites away. I’ve been around bear my whole life and this bear was the most brazen I’d ever seen.

It’s true when they say you walk into your campsite so pack the bare minimum for a night or two. The camp host was very helpful and tentative to bear sightings and getting them out of the campground. There was construction work overnight on Highway 89 which made for a loud evening, but it’s only temporary.
