RV Village Campground at Camp Richardson Resort

The campground offers a good mix of pleasant calm and a nearby lively environment with shopping and restaurants/snack bars. It is only a short walk to Lake Tahoe. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The campground is an integral part of our traveling and we love to be here.

Need to improve the instructions for check in. I read the directions for checkin which was sent to me in an email, and it said to check in at the kiosk at Eagles Nest Campground, but I found NOTHING about Eagles nest Campground anywhere on-line, and where to find it!

My husband and me had great time in the campground. I admit, part of our wonderful experience was the fact we visited before the main season, the campground was ours! I love the location near beach and several hikes and quiet camping due to forbidden generators. If you don’t get WiFi at your campsite, for sure you get it at the lodge. Camping luxury!

I have been going to Camp Richardson for about 30 years. The campgrounds are always clean and the staff are friendly. Do heed the bear warnings as they will wander through. You are close to the ice cream shop, the grocery store/deli and the beach. The marina is competitively priced. There is a beachside restaurant. Depending on your service, there is not much cell coverage, and the wifi is quite limited. So detach and relax.

Nice campground and we did enjoy the scenery, HOWEVER...this campground really needs to fix a few BIG FLAWS that caused many people problems while we were there.
1. At check in the person drew on the paper and told us to take an immediate right turn (this after having seen our 34 ft 5th wheel). The turn isn't wide enough to turn a normal trailer on, let alone a long one like ours. (Fellow campers were told by another person to go up a ways and make a u-turn so they could get around that corner. However, even that intersection was barely big enough to make a u-turn with a trailer.
2. Because of trees and the odd placement of electrical boxes and sewer dumps, we could barely get into our space. Who puts the sewer at the front of the campsite that near the road? Or the Electrical? Weirdest thing we've ever seen. Other campers were shaking their heads as well. There was a large rock and an electrical box across the road where we needed to have our truck in order to get into our space. Our friends had to actually drive in forward with their 5th wheel rather than back in because the sewer was so close to the road and back to back with their neighbor. This campground went cheap and put sewers together so our other friends had to run their sewer hose underneath their trailer!
Wish my review could have been better, but this was extremely stressful!

Nice campground overall, but site 36 had a few issues. The site wasn’t level, and both the faucet and sewer hookup were located too far forward. I had to pull the RV ahead to connect the water and sewer hoses, then disconnect everything and reposition the RV when we were ready to sleep.

Also, it was a bit disappointing that the showers and restrooms were closed for the off-season. Not a major issue for us since we had an RV, but still worth mentioning.

The WiFi was excellent.
