What Guests Are Saying
Atwell Mill Campground is a beautiful and peaceful location nestled among towering sequoias, offering clean facilities and spacious sites that provide a sense of privacy from neighboring campers. The scenic hikes and serene environment are highlights for visitors, contributing to a tranquil camping experience. However, access to the campground can be challenging due to a long and winding road that may require a high-clearance vehicle, and some campers have reported issues with insects and cleanliness in the bathrooms.

Highlights include camping in the midst of the redwoods, even the stupendous stumps, the 2 mile walk to the falls and bridge, and meeting campers from across the country and the world. Lows include the camper snoring in the next site (we had site 7) and the daytime flies (We went in early August). The camp host was very nice and we enjoyed our stay overall.

Our experience was wonderful the road up there was dicey but if you go slow and take your time you will be fine. Being surrounded by sequoias was amazing, we went the first week in August and it rained lightly the whole time we were there but it was still beautiful. The rain helped keep the yellow jacket bees away and mosquitoes. I recommend taking a day hike to the bridge waterfall on the Attwell- Hockett trail from Attwell Mill campground it’s 3 miles round trip to the bridge and back. And at silver city you can take a shower for $5 well worth it!

Was a little timid on getting this site we were at site 15 further away from everyone because my group tends to get rowdy at night. But overall the drive up the hill was probably the most rigorous but it’s well worth it. Beautiful scenes hiked part way to monarch lakes be ready for lots of steep and long hikes. Beautiful and clean

Camped out at #17 and absolutely loved it! There was a trail near to our campsite but far enough away that we didn't hear anyone.

An absolutely beautiful campsite! The hikes near by are not to miss. Paradise trail was a wonderland of Sequoias. The only down side was how rank these particular outhouses smelled.

Actually between sequoias, clean, reasonable site sizes and spacing. Liked it.

Fantastic hide-a-way! Excluded shady camp ground located near two amazing sequoia groves. Sites are very clean and spacious. Tough drive back into Mineral King but well worth it!

If you are willing to drive up a treacherous and windy road for an hour and a half one-way, you won't be disappointed in the beautiful scenery and wonderful campground with tons of redwood trees. Easy access to a bunch of awesome hiking trails. Also very close to a beautiful and modest resort called Silver City, which is a very homely and friendly place with many awesome and humble people worth meeting. Our car's battery died at the top of the mountain and several of the local residents helped us to figure it out and get a new one. I could not express fairly the amount of gratitude I have for the friendly and humble people at Silver City and I could not recommend this campground enough for those willing to make the drive up.

A very lovely campground! Clean and well maintained with plenty of firewood on site. We had a great time hiking and relaxing. The sites were well spaced too and the bear lockers were large enough for storing, not just our food, but bags and sundries. Just prepare for a slow windy drive up. Well worth it!!
