Camping in December is a good time sun during the day but make sure you are prepared for the cold nights because it gets really cold so take plenty of wood

I was confused by the map online. I thought our camp site had a water front cause the map showed blue and camp sites were surrounding the blue. Nope. It was literally nothingness lol so that was disappointing. Otherwise great campground! There’s a hot shower (free!) in the restrooms

We had a great time , the coyotes at nite are good size if you get to see them

The shower/toilet area was super filthy.

Overall a good place to camp. To note, lots of driveways are sloped so sleeping in the car is odd. Men’s restroom smells whilst the Women’s doesn’t. Free hot showers available but only 1 stall per restroom.

No firewood onsite. Buy some from the Village Market about 5 miles towards the national park.

Campsite #73 was in a great location, which we enjoyed very much. The only drawback was that there was no BBQ/cooking grate over the fire pit, so we had to pan fry our steaks. The campground host, Jon, was very helpful.

All we noticed “No” signs everywhere. Ranger never came by to give us our needed paper verification although he parked a block away and stared at our campsite for 20 minutes. Don’t know what that was about. All roads were gated off to the lake and made access to fishing impossible. Very disappointed with our stay.

This was the only campground along my route open after the December storms and while the campsites looked lovely and well kept, the camp host was no where to be found and no note (usually a note is left if the camp host is away) and there was only a few other campers. While trying to decide if it felt safe as a solo female traveler I walked into the women's bathroom to check out the "hot" showers. The bathroom ceiling was rotting and falling down, the shower stall was dingy and dirty, and the bathroom stalls looked like animals had nested in the corners. I don't know what the men's room looked like but based on the look of the women's and not feeling good about the place, I left and went down to Lemon Grove RV park for the night. Hopefully there are plans to update the bathrooms.

The campground is right off the road and easy to get to. The views of the foothills were very pretty, however we were disappointed that the reservoir has recently been partially drained, so there were no views or functional use of it. There were bathrooms close to our campsite that were not maintained very well (dirty and no toilet paper). Finally, one of our neighbors was blasting music until 3:00 in the morning and the camp host did nothing to stop him. We likely will not return back.

The camp host was rude and overly authoritative. It takes the fun out of camping there.
